Compensation: $34-$40/hr. + Benefits + Signing Bonus!

Bonus: $1,000 Signing Bonus

Location: 100% Remote - Work from home!

Requirements: CCS, RHIT, or RHIA

eCatalyst Healthcare Solutions, headquartered in Phoenix, AZ, is growing! We want you to be a part of our success! We have an Inpatient Academic Medical Center Coder (Remote) position available.

As an Inpatient Academic Medical Center Coder (Remote), you will perform inpatient facility coding for one of our prestigious clients by reviewing medical record documentation to determine the principal and secondary ICD-10-CM diagnoses codes, as well as the principal and secondary ICD-10-PCS procedure codes for patient visits.

Additionally, the Inpatient Academic Medical Center Coder (Remote) applies all coding and abstracting guidelines and meets productivity standards while maintaining a 95% or better accuracy rate.

Inpatient Academic Medical Center Coder (Remote) Essential Functions

  • Apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and pathology of disease processes while analyzing clinical documentation of inpatient records.
  • Apply knowledge of ICD-10 and ICD-10-PCS and American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), and applicable Federal and third-party payer guidelines to accurately and compliantly determine the principal and secondary ICD-10 diagnoses codes, principal and secondary ICD-10 procedure codes for all visits.
  • Meet productivity standards while maintaining a 95% or better overall accuracy rate.
  • Adheres to all client and eCatalyst standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations; ensures strict confidentiality of patient and client information, protects electronic PHI.
  • Additional duties, as required.

Minimum Requirements

· Minimum of three (3) years of inpatient facility coding experience.

· Academic Medical Center experience.

· Proficiency in using EMR's (EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, etc.), Computer Assisted Coding, and Encoders

· Consistently follows our client's coding and abstracting guidelines

· Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.

· Educated in HIPAA regulations; must maintain strict confidentiality of patient protected health information (PHI).

· Maintain a 95% or above coding accuracy rate and meet established productivity standards.

· Ability to organize and complete work promptly.

· Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.

Required Certifications

The candidate must have at least one of the following professional certifications:

· CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)

· RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)

· RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
