Job Description*Position eligible for work from home. On-site as needed in the Tamp Bay area for job fairs, etc*The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for engaging with employees and leaders at critical moments in the employee life cycle to ensure an equitable, inclusive, and respectful experience for all employees consistent with Achieva's policies, values, and culture. Leading workplace investigations, policy creation and interpretation, performance management, medical accommodations, and other workplace projects impacting the employee experience. Handling a wide range of complex and highly sensitive employment situations and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence to skillfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization who have a wide range of experiences and backgrounds.Employee Relations- 40%Responsible for engaging with employees and leaders at critical moments in the employee life cycle to ensure an equitable, inclusive, and respectful experience for all employees consistent with Achieva's policies, values, and culture.Guide Manager's on complex performance management issues, including conflict management, performance improvement plans, and discipline issues.Handle a wide range of complex and highly sensitive employment situations and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence to skillfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization who have a wide range of experiences and backgrounds.Leading workplace investigations, policy creation and interpretation, performance management, medical accommodations, workplace training, organizational change assessment, crisis response, case data analytics, and other workplace projects impacting the employee experience.Respond to employee questions, disseminate information on benefits or policies or escalate to HR Manager. Research and respond to questions.Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.Conduct complex and sensitive workplace investigations with little supervision, including determining appropriate investigation strategies, leading witness interviews and document review, and determining findings and recommendations for appropriate resolution.Recruiting- 30%Assists the Recruiter with overflow recruitment tasks, including: candidate sourcing, pipelining, pre- screening, scheduling interviews with candidates, conducting pre-employment requirements and maintaining the applicant tracking system.Oversees the career development and internal recruiting efforts within the organization.Leave Management- 15%Manage complex situations related to reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities and leave of absences.Compliance Time: 10%Monitors ERISA, COBRA, HIPPA, FMLA and other compliance issues.Recommends updates to handbook and prepares annual update for publishing.Promote knowledge and understanding of Company policies and of relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training.Administers the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.Respond to employee complaints with federal, state, and local administrative agencies as needed.Development- 5%Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.Completes other work as assignedExperience and SkillsRequired Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar field required, or equivalent combination of education and work experienceRequired Experience:5+ years or experience in Employee Relations, HR Business Partner, or equivalent roleDemonstrated experience leading a wide variety of complex employee investigations and providing employee relations consultations with little supervisionAdvanced understanding of employment and HR related laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts, and practices, including Title VII, ADA, ADAA, and FMLARecruiting experience to include pipelining of candidatesThorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Expert knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements.Desired Certifications:Human resources certification strongly preferredRequired Skills:Ability to research, comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.Ability to establish strong cross-functional relationships at all levels.Ability to listen, but also to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations both in speaking and writing.Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.Possess a deep sense of empathy and understanding the needs of diverse groups of people.Strong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to prioritize and multitaskAbility to handle sensitive, confidential informationWorking knowledge of employment lawExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite to include Outlook, Word, and ExcelJob BenefitsUp to 18 paid days off in the first yearUp to 15 paid holidaysHealth and dental insuranceLife and disability insuranceExcellent 401k programTuition reimbursementFitness reimbursement programMobile device assistance programFree Achieva Checking Plus account
