We are seeking to hire a Global Director, Environment, Social, and Governance to join our Global Procurement and Supply Chain Team

JOB SUMMARY

This Director role leads Adare’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), including devel-opment of strategy, target setting, planning and execution, reporting and engagement. The role combines elements of strategy, policy, operations (data collection process implementation, validation, and attestation), team management and development, advocacy, and support for working groups against the delivery and reporting of targets aligned with business goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute to the evolution of Adare’s ESG program and to the evolution of the DEI agenda, in consultation with HR
  • Develop programs to achieve goals for all material ESG elements, specifically: Product Quality and Safety, Sustainable Supply Chain and Procurement, Product Stewardship, Energy Management, GHG emissions, Environmental Compliance, Employee Health and Safety, Employee Engagement, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, and Others
  • Ensure Adare is awarded with the highest sustainability rating by the most trusted companies or organizations at a global level.
  • Carry out regular benchmarking of Adare’s ESG performance against peers, and against industry trends and best practices. Proactively identify issues, risks, opportunities, and trends that may impact the company from an ESG perspective.
  • Convene internal ESG conversations to drive corporate ESG strategy and produce recommendations on action, policy, or behavior change; work with internal stakeholders to enact these recommendations and develop a cohesive narrative around them.
  • Draw together the various strands of Adare’s ESG work liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute appropriate disclosure controls and procedures related to ESG.
  • Support deep ESG expertise development on the team and foster a culture of learning.
  • Produce regular internal reporting and assessments of Adare’s ESG performance relative to goals and to the performance, ensure compliance with the relevant regulatory and company’s standards, and make recommendations on future policy and action.
  • Develop a system to incorporate working group initiatives/KPI progress to overall data collection and reporting processes including ESG reporting system capture where possible; develop and maintain an ESG dashboard for functional and executive leaders.
  • Manage ESG reporting to third parties as appropriate.
  • Identify learning opportunities and support plan/budgeting to execute.
  • Manage ESG customer paper and on-site audits.
  • Support content development for the ESG portion of the website, working with internal partners to build out and refresh content.
  • Carry out his/her work in compliance with company procedures and in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Act as a change agent by promoting a mindset of continuous improvement and engaging and motivating through adequate communication and recognition.
  • Hire, assign, develop, supervise, and retain employees under your supervision.
  • Manage the budget inherent to the department.
  • Work effectively under deadlines.
  • Act as the company’s representative by showing respect and being an ambassador for the established beliefs and behaviors of the Company.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of methods, procedures, and regulations necessary for the smooth operations of the business.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance from a 4-year accredited university; plus 10+ years of related experience required or equivalent education. Master’s or graduate degree in ESG, CSR, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards and trends is required.
  • Advanced skills in writing and report preparation are required.
  • 3+ years of related experience in the technology sector is preferred.
  • 3+ years of Project Management experience is required.
  • Executive presence along with a passion for teamwork and collaboration are a must.

  • Ability to coordinate, contribute to, and work within a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Able to prioritize duties and manage multiple projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to take initiative to complete assignments and job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to accommodate up to 15% travel.
