Job Description

The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) is a national civil rights organization that empowers Cambodian, Laotian, and Vietnamese American communities to create a socially just and equitable society. SEARAC seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in amplifying our field teams mobilization and campaign efforts. The field intern would work closely with SEARACs field, policy, and communications teams, and be supervised by the Senior Field Manager. This internship is an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in various aspects of community outreach and education, coalition and partnership management, capacity building, program management, and national advocacy work.Field responsibilities: Work with Senior Field Manager to support community engagement and mobilization initiatives, including development and rollout of community education and campaign materials (e.g. organizing toolkits, factsheets)Support Partnership Manager with community partner communication and coordination for coalition meetings, check-ins, convenings, and campaign supportAssist Field Associate with planning and execution of SEARACs Digital Advocacy Training and first-ever virtual conference, Moving Mountains: A Southeast Asian American Equity SummitAssist Senior Field Manager to activate SEARACs Southeast Asian American Action Network and mobilize individual advocates and partner organizations to plug into engagement opportunities (e.g. sign onto letters and/or petitions, participate in campaigns and social media actions, contact elected officials)Support field team in maintaining online resource hub and campaign websitesMonitor listservs and news pertinent to SEARACs field work to flag opportunities to engage in coalition partners actions in a timely mannerParticipate in general staff meetings, policy and field meetings, field meetings, as well as partner meetings and events as availableQualifications: Completed or working toward a college degreeFirm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media spaceMust be computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive)An effective communicator, both written and oralAbility to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contactsSelf-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, and proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlinesEnthusiasm for SEARACs mission and work
