The Company offers a competitive salary including a performance-based bonus program and stock-based compensation, a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) matching plan and health insurance, and paid time off and holidays.Position Title: Executive Director, Market AccessThe Executive Director, Market Access, is accountable for all national and regional payers enhancing Esperion's product access and reimbursement status with commercial managed care, public payers (Medicare, Medicaid) as well as select Integrated Health Systems. This individual will be responsible for eliminating and/or significantly reducing barriers to access and reimbursement for the Company's products across all payer segments. The Executive Director, Market Access will collaborate extensively with sales and marketing to implement product access initiatives. Although this position is a field-based position, it is expected that the individual will travel regularly for key interactions and meetings with both internal and external customers.Preferred Location:Remote - USEssential Duties and Responsibilities*Develop targeted account management strategies and tactics to facilitate access to Esperion products across all payer segments.Develop and maintain strategic relationships with National payers throughout the US to facilitate appropriate coverage for Esperion's product portfolio. Assist assigned sales regions with market access coverage and reimbursement expertise.Develop, implement and coordinate pull-through activities and product access strategies in collaboration with sales and marketing colleagues.Present compelling clinical information to key decision makers across all payer segments to influence coverage and reimbursement of products.Develop business plans and present regular reviews including relevant payer trends to Commercial team.Coordinate closely with specialty pharmacy partners to identify and resolve payer coverage and reimbursement issues.Participate in the design, development and execution of marketing reimbursement support materials.Participate in the design and development of various payer communications.Develop and implement contracting initiatives with key accounts, as needed.Develop an effective communication plan to ensure that all sales and marketing staff are aware of key coverage and reimbursement issues across all payer segments.Work closely and collaboratively with other commercial team members to meet commercial business objectives.*additional duties and responsibilities not listed here may be requiredQualifications (Education & Experience)Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or health-care related field from accredited college or university; advanced degree a plus.Minimum 10 years' experience with at least 5 years' experience within the market access segments of the business (including reimbursement, distribution, patient access, etc.)Proven experience building, maintaining and leveraging strategic relationshipsProven success in ability to negotiate and influence cross-functionally and across customer stakeholdersProven track record of success in managing multiple payer accounts across all payer segmentsEntrepreneurial spirit highly preferred - understands the accountability for achieving US salesPrevious experience operating in a small company, fast paced environmentPrevious experience within the cardiovascular health area is strongly preferred.Experience working on pharmacy benefit products requiredExperience in market access for a product launch requiredExperience working with Specialty Pharmacies and/or Reimbursement Support ProgramsProficiency in Microsoft Office productsMust have the ability to deliver results and possess a strong drive to meet and exceed goals and is willing to take ownership of problems and make sound decisions.Possess extensive knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, reimbursements and programs, Federal Marketplace (VA/DoD), Oncology State Societies, Regional Health Plans, National Health Plans, Physician Network influences, emerging Clinical Pathways, IDNs and product distribution (Specialty Pharmacies).Strong English communication skills - written, oral and presentation skills with a proven ability to translate complex information into actionable guidanceDeep understanding of coverage, coding and payment dynamics across commercial and government payers.Must perform at times with few established guidelines or procedures. At other times, exceedingly complex governmental rules and regulations must be followed.
