Job Description

Overview:Develops and analyzes aspects of default servicing processes and customer behavior. Contributes pieces of larger projects. Collaborates with more experienced analysts and management in ETL builds, data analysis, model development efforts and ad-hoc analysis as needed. Mid-level role focused on executing default servicing business analytics.Primary Responsibilities: • Develop standard ETL packages in support of business unit processes and analytics.• Understand the context of the Bank's data and default servicing business to ensure properly developed analytics• Create and run queries / regressions (including time series and logistic regression), programming routines and other analytical functions to identify root cause or implement moderate-impact, moderate-risk default servicing decisions• Perform descriptive (what) and diagnostic (why) analytics on roll worse and charged off loans. Assist senior level analysts by analyzing predetermined segments of adverse customer actions for deeper macro-level default servicing trends• Track default portfolio performance to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are executed according to a predefined strategies.• Propose analytics / models for customer contact strategies, customer risk profiles, loan workout options, time specific actions, and other key default strategy decisions• Incorporate observations and data into existing analytics to improve default servicing results. Identify deviations from forecast/expectations and explain variances. Identify risk and/or opportunities.• Collaborate with senior analysts to troubleshoot moderately-complex production jobs• Compile and distribute new reports, dashboards and analysis based on unestablished processes and procedures in an automated fashion• Communicate highly technical results to non-technical personnel in an easily understood manner that fosters collaboration and embracing change• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.• Complete other related duties as assigned.Scope of Responsibilities: The position serves as an experienced analyst in the use of extract, translate and load (ETL) software in conjunction with programming languages (SQL, C#, VBA, etc.) to move data in support of business unit processes and statistical analysis. The position also uses statistical programming languages to analyze Bank datasets and perform descriptive (what) and diagnostic (why) analytics. It is important for the position to communicate with clear narratives, compelling data visualization and technical precision, both in-person and in writing, to enable recipients to understand the analyses or process flow. The position partners and collaborates with colleagues in related functions, including Compliance, Risk, Treasury, Product and business lines to implement and understand data flows. This role is highly technical in nature and requires demonstrated attention to detail, execution and follow-up on multiple initiatives within Customer Asset Management and across the Bank. The ability to identify, analyze, rationalize and communicate complex business, data and statistical problems and recommend corresponding solutions is a key factor of success in this role. Education and Experience Required:Bachelor Degree in Business Admin, Management Information Systems, Statistics, mathematics, economics or other quantitative disciplineand 2+ years experience in data analytics roleProficient in structured data mining concepts: SQL Server, SAS, Oracle, Teradata, or equivalentProficient in Extract Translate and Load process and best practicesProficient in data visualization software: Excel Pivot Charts, Tableau, Cognos, Qlik View, or equivalentWorking knowledge of analytics and statistical conceptsDemonstrated ability to produce quantitative analysisProficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, OneNoteStrong communications skills with ability to translate highly technical concepts to less technical managers and other professionalsStrong organizational ability to manage concurrent projects in fast-paced environmentAbility to draw conclusions based on pattern recognition and relationships amongst variablesAbility to work effectively as an individual with limited guidanceLocationGetzville, New York, United States of America
