SMX is seeking an Engineering Technician III that will be responsible for ensuring the readiness of Civil support teams around the country. The Ideal candidate will perform standardized or prescribed assignments involving a sequence of related operations by following standard work methods on recurring assignments with explicit instructions provided on unfamiliar tasking. SMX is dedicated to the success of the warfighter at home and abroad. The work we do ensures success for our team helping to be better prepared for real world experiences.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4 years + experience in a technical discipline
- Ability to perform tasks that are not completely standardized or prescribed
- Ability to select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents
- Ability to interpret initial instructions and equipment requirements then work independently to complete objective (advice from supervisor and engineers as needed)
- Able to obtain a DoD secret security clearance
- Willing to travel up to 50% at times

- Current Solder certification or ability to achieve certification within 6 months of hire
Desired Skills & Experience
- Active Secret Clearance
- Able to Read assembly drawings, wiring schematics, and cable run sheets
- Able to Build different types of cable assemblies, from standard RF and data cables to complex multipin and fiber cables
- Experience with Equipment rack integration
- Experience with cable and wire dressing in equipment racks
- Experience with assembling metal work assemblies
- Experience with soldering connector pins and wires to build cable assemblies
