The Director, IT PMO, will be responsible for instituting an end-to-end PMO and Portfolio Mgmt. program. This role will manage a team of Portfolio & Project Managers ensuring successful project implementation, client satisfaction, quality deliverables, and meeting financial commitments. Additionally the role will manage the overall governance & communication for the program including financial & operational metrics to track status for each project & program, risks & mitigation plans, & communication with AMAPAC leadership.This is a highly influential role & a highly cross-functional role that works across entire IT, Finance, & all Business Units (BU) for IT implementations. What you'll do on a typical day:
- Manage overall PMO / Program Management organization financials and project profitability including resource scheduling, revenue forecasting per project, billing reconciliations, expense reports and time approval for project work, etc. Exercises risk and issue management.
- Drive Governance & Strategy: Analyze business objectives and customer needs; develop, communicate, and implement strategic plans; analyze costs and forecasts, and incorporate into business plans; assess and manage resource requirements; measure outcomes and manage variance
- Reporting & Partnerships: Manage all communication, and executive alignment with stakeholders across entire AMAPAC. Deliver overall messaging of status/issues for partners and clients. Provide program/account dashboard; top project/account risks & issues
- Delivery: Oversee entire portfolios for program/project commitments. Manage project scope, schedule and budget; manage risks & conflicts. Ensure billable projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Metrics & Analysis: Review plan vs. actuals; identify key performance indicators (KPI) and trend data; financial & ROI analyses; manage variances; address cross-functional program and project issues; drive analytics-based decision making
- Process/Tools: Develop, maintain and enforce program and project management methodologies, standards, governance, templates and tools in order to achieve operational, financial and project quality goals.
- Business Dev. & Sales: Collaborate with solutions & sales in pre-sales activities such as project sizing and cost estimates, bid reviews and contract reviews.
- Staffing: Manage and recommend allocation and integration of project resources to meet commitments and objectives; optimize resource/practice billable utilization; forecasts resource/skill supply/demand.
- Professional Development: Invest in coaching, teaching, mentoring & training to improve overall team skills and experience.What you need to succeed at GXO:At a minimum, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of IT project & program management experience
- 5+ years leading Program and Project Mgmt. Office preferably in supply chain or logistics
- Demonstrated delivery experience in project and program management.
- Portfolio, program, and project management methodologies, methods, road-mapping, and metrics development.
- Experience in process development and driving continuous improvement
- Strong business acumen and leadership skills; assertive and diplomatic; self-directing; able to manage up and down the organization with influence; willing to hold others accountable
- Proven experience in achieving operational excellence and developing end-to-end procedures with a keen ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation, and listening skills; ability to articulate the big picture.
- Dynamic problem solver, solid analytical skills, comfortable challenging assumptions and offering solutions/making decisions with currently available information.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently, balancing multiple priorities, working with minimal supervision, and meeting deadlines.
