The Role The Director guides the architecture team, software leadership, software development and quality assurance teams in developing, testing, releasing, operating, and servicing functionality to fulfilling strategic vision of our solutions. Collaborating with all business teams at all levels, the Director, Software is accountable for delivering reliable and quality software solutions that align with the technology roadmap. The Director, Software builds, supports, and mentors a high-performance team of 50+ developers and technical leaders reporting to directly to the CTO. Who you are 10 years' experience in software development with, desirably, a minimum of 3 product cycles completed in a leadership role in cloud and embedded/IoT solutions environment BS Computer Science or 5 years of equivalent software engineering work Demonstrable ability to own and deliver solutions/results of increasing technical complexity Data driven approach to analyzing and solving problems, with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence. Highly collaborative in seeking the right solution with cross functional teams Strong communication and analytical skills and a thorough understanding of product development and experience working with Senior Leadership Teams Self-starting attitude, excited to make things happen in new and ambiguous situations Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of the organization Nice to haves Experience in creating, securing, operating & supporting Cloud Based Services & APIs Experience in designing, debugging & testing multi-threaded systems Excellent skills in C/C , C# or Python experience (Rust would be amazing) Experience in building solutions in supply chain, warehouse automation or logistics is a plus What we need Lead the software team to deliver the software components into our Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) Solution Partner with the Senior Leadership Team, product management and stakeholders to design and implement a highly scalable and reliable solution Provide hands-on technical leadership across the system's software lifecycle: architecture, design, coding, testing, deployment, observability, and live-site operations.
