JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for performing various activities related to Market Access Agreements and bids including but not limited to rebate and chargeback operations, payer contracting, public interest contracting, GPO contracting, pharmacy and distribution contracting, and government pricing/reporting. In addition, this individual will be responsible for complimentary functions including analytics/contracting, reporting and pricing operations. This position will also be responsible for working closely with internal stakeholders to include but not limited to finance, legal, accounting, operations, trade, patient support/public interest, and payer account management teams. This role requires a high degree of knowledge and experience in Market Access with an in-depth understanding of the dynamic biotech and pharmaceutical market access landscape.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide accurate, proactive and reactive reporting, analytics and insights to the business that help improve forecasting, pricing/contracting decisions and general business planning.
  • Develop contract proposals (including financial models, GTN implications and ROI analysis for evaluation) and effective negotiation strategies.
  • Work closely with payer account management teams in executing customer strategic plans.
  • Timely and thorough review of all Market Access contract related documents ensuring the agreements have the necessary language to clarify intent and to protect ARS.
  • Manage redlines, NBIs, RFPs, Bids, amendments, correspondence, etc. relating to various Market Access agreements.
  • Establish cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the agreements are operational, functional, and interpreted accurately for timely implementation and other contractual obligations.
  • Oversee and support external vendors to ensure on-time and accurate reporting of government pricing calculations.
  • Support Gross to Net calculation activities by pulling reports, preparing data in a consumable format, and tracking trends across different data sets.
  • Contribute to and support pricing strategy for all of ARS’s current and future products.
  • Manage the day to day operations of savings card program(s).
  • Manage savings card vendor business rules/operations procedure documents, including drafting, as needed and partnering with legal for review and implementation.
  • Ensure all activities are consistent with all regulations, laws and company compliance policies.
  • Work in conjunction and collaboratively with Finance, Account Directors, Market Access, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Marketing as well as other stakeholders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience
  • Experience in a start up Life Sciences company preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Extensive knowledge of the US health care market; US healthcare delivery, financial, and reimbursement mechanisms; ACA; formulary/PDL development, and compliance laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-organizational projects and teams with and without direct management authority.
  • Ability to be flexible and manage change within a dynamic growing organization and an evolving health care marketplace as needs dictate.
  • Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and broad understanding of Pricing and Contracting, practices, methodology, and approaches.
  • Knowledge of the various government price types and reporting requirements, both state and federal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, internal, and external partners.
  • Strong diplomatic & interpersonal skills and able to inspire respect and trust from others.
At ARS, we are proud to offer a highly competitive compensation & benefits package. 
 
The full-time salary range for this posted position is $220,000 to $240,000 and may be eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus. Actual pay rates are determined by considering multiple factors including qualifications, relevance of experience, education & credentials, subject matter expertise, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
