Job Description

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is seeking qualified, experienced, results-driven candidates for the position of Director, Luxury + Lifestyle. This position will represent Luxury + Lifestyle accounts for participating Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. This position will report to the Director of Sales Operations.

This position will be responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining accounts to drive revenue and market share growth within the luxury account portfolio. It will require a deep knowledge in customer procurement strategies and structure, an expertise in luxury account buying behaviors and strong internal training development. Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Working with each participating hotel to ensure luxury program or client's day-to-day needs are met while identifying viable opportunities for deliberate initiatives designed to improve operational and financial performance

+ Must be familiar with each hotel's competitive set and Luxury + Lifestyle accounts in line with

+ Analyze data, understand industry trends and highlight account-based trends on a regular cadence, and compare data with previous years' results to benchmark & support continued growth

+ Partner with GM and DOSMS to regarding required training for hotel teams to complete in order to meet requirements for luxury

+ Assist property teams to add programs and/or increase market share within Luxury & Lifestyle

+ Consistently and regularly reviews and analyzes industry hotel intelligence reports with goal to develop strategies to gain market

+ Remains current on industry trends and seeks creative ways to infiltrate potential new luxury accounts/programs.

+ Establishes and maintains effective and profitable relationships with

+ Consults with property teams to incorporate marketing strategies into sales strategies.

+ Organizes and actively participates in sales solicitation trips and attends market-specific tradeshows, as assigned and approved by hotel executive team.

+ Joins and attends appropriate professional sales organizations

+ Assists in planning and leading strategic brand initiatives in partnership with IHG and Director of Sales Operations

+ Prepares for and actively participates in weekly sales

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALITIES:

+ Self-motivated, organized, and high level of productivity

+ Strong customer service skills with a drive to exhibit good judgement, flexibility, and dependability

+ Ability to work cross functionally with a variety of different teams and leaders, including executive teams

+ Strong negotiation skills for both internal and external partnerships

+ In depth knowledge of luxury travel industry and past experience with above property sales or cluster hotel sales

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies include but are not limited:

+ Minimum 5-7 years sales management experience in transient, luxury or consortia

+ Proven successful selling and negotiation skills including prospecting

+ Knowledge of Delphi PowerPoint, Agency360, various GDS systems and Tableau

+ Travel up to 40% and ability to work outside normal business hours

+ Possess excellent organization, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

BA/BS Degree in Hospitality / Tourism Management, Business or related field of study preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journal, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
