The Kairos Campaign Manager understands that building power requires creativity, strategy, strong relationships, and a whole lot of elbow grease.The Campaign Manager is a self-motivated, strategic, and detail-oriented campaigner who is deeply experienced in digital strategy and also interested in deploying innovative tactics to help expand whats possible.The Campaign Manager will lead campaigns focused on the core issue areas of Kairos, including counteracting mis/disinformation and tech accountability. They will pitch and lead campaigning opportunities, drive the campaign forward, grow the Kairos supporter base, and help develop a new way of thinking about the use of digital.The ideal person will have three or more years of digital campaigning experience.They must care about and have a track record of racial and gender justice work. And they must be a self-motivated leader. They are able to combine all these factors to strategize on and run digital campaigns from start to finish.Kairos is a small, nimble, and growing team. Our team will consist of nine full-time staff people by the end of September. We also work closely with a very active alumni network. We are looking for someone who will dive in and help shape our work for years to come. The Campaign Manager will report to the Interim Director of Campaigns and work collaboratively with the other members of the team.General DutiesGrow Kairos base of supporters through strategic campaigns;Pitch and implement campaigns in Kairos core focus areas from start to finish;Craft digital strategies rooted in integrating organizing, communications, and other campaigning streams;Write and create compelling, well-sourced content (including email, social, and SMS) to organize supporters and members to take action;Pitch in to help on campaigns as they develop;Help test and assess decision-making processes and new campaign infrastructure to improve our developing systems; andParticipate in the culture of and contribute to the broader Kairos team spirit, ethos, and strategy.Required Skills and ExperienceThree or more years in digital campaigning experience;Experience and proficiency using digital tools, including a CRM system (example: ActionKit, ControlShift, or others);A hunger to learn and test new ways of digital campaigning, processes, tools, and jump into Kairos areas of focus;A movement builder with deep ties to communities of color, and committed for the long-term to build power with marginalized communities;An exceptional writer, listener, and strategic problem-solver;Self-reflectiveable to give, receive, and implement feedback;Self-motivated to drive campaigns from pitch to strategy to implementation with the resources at hand;Direct and collaboration-oriented communicator who is able to manage group dynamics in order to move discussions toward decisions and action;Demonstrated ability to work remotely and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously.Nice-to-Have:Experience with ActionKit and mobile toolsincluding supporter segmentation and clean up, implementing tactics, and establishing robust reporting systems;Deep interest in combating mis/disinformation through bold programs and campaigns;Participation in a leadership development program like BOLD, Kairos, Rockwood, etc.If you are an experienced digital campaigner who is passionate about social justice and wants to lead on strategies and campaigns to combat mis/disinformation and hold tech accountable, then this is the role and team for you!As we are a distributed team, your primary residence may be located anywhere in the United States, though we have a preference for candidates from the southern U.S., so as to build up investment in that part of the country. Current staff are based in New York City, Austin, Durham (NC), Oakland, and Chicago. Occasional organization-sponsored travel for conferences, Kairos trainings, partner meetings, and face-to-face staff gatherings will be required once travel is safe again (no travel will occur into 2021).
