Overview of the Developer (Team Leader)
Reporting to the Engineering Manager of this FTSE 500 Blue Chip Company we are looking to hire a Developer (Team Leader). This position has a good blend of both needing a technical ability combined with management/leadership experience as the position will be overseeing 4 Developers (Permanent Staff). The position will also come with 4 days a week remote working and you will only need to come to the offices once a week.

As a Developer (Team Leader), you will be responsible for developing Team Strategies, driving development capability, ensuring quality is maintained and standards are adopted and followed.
Continuous improvement activities and security considerations will be at the heart of your approach, as will the drive for industry best practice and efficiencies.
Ensures the delivery of Development Services as part of an agreed change agenda to; time / budget / quality criteria, through a mix of internal and external capability, ensuring that at all times that the appropriate blend of team skills, capability and capacity is available to support the change activities.
Ensures that all products, processes are services are developed, managed and followed in accordance with industry and organisational best practice.
Provide support for the wider business and Operations Team in the analysis and resolution of complex issues.
Proactively manages any third party relationships, setting expectations around quality, agreeing / monitoring KPIs / SLAs and ensuring common goals are achieved.
Keeps abreast of developments and changes in technology and methodologies that influence efficient and effective Development practices.
Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company's policies and procedures the including Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.
Knowledge of Systems and Software Development practices, including testing at both a functional & non-functional level
Knowledge of Systems Analysis methodologies and techniques
Experience of Snowflake or WhereScape technology would be an advantage to the role
Knowledge of Mainframe & ERP Systems, with a focus on Finance, Procurement & Payment
Knowledge of Systems Architecture and Integration / ETL approaches
Knowledge of Data storage architectures.
Knowledge of Agile & Waterfall delivery frameworks
Knowledge of ITIL and Dev Ops desirable
Outstanding Development Lead experience, with a proven track record of providing development services in a change / project / operational environment.
Experience of software development languages and standards.
Experience working with and managing relationships with external partners to achieve common goals.
Experience operating in a Product oriented manner desirable
Experience of working in a matrix organisation with multiple onshore / offshore vendors.
Thought leader able to communicate the importance and value of robust Development Services, combined with an ability to collaboratively implement best practice.
