DirectViz Solutions is a high-level, strategic consulting services firm that meets mission needs for commercial and government clients. We are hiring a Senior Desktop Support Engineer for a new opportunity. This position, will be remote. Preference will be given to candidates who live in the Columbus, Ohio and Falls Church, VA areas as they are nearby to program offices. The position requires an active Top Secret clearance.Required Skills: Windows 10 Advanced Troubleshooting Browser Support (IE11, Chrome, Edge, Firefox) Microsoft Office 2016/2019/365 GOTS / COTS Support System Center Configuration Manager McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (HBSS) Remedy Ticketing SystemPreferred Skills: Group Policy Administration PowerShell MCSA Active Directory Crash Plan Backup Solution Windows Management Instrumentation Network Vulnerability Scanner (ACAS)Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related field preferred. Six years of experience in information technology including a minimum of 4 years in troubleshooting with Microsoft Windows and associated applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer. Be able to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Excellent planning, organizing, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills required.Technical Requirements: Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve systems issues. Excellent understanding of Windows 10 in a locked down environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Understands and administers the McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) utilizing the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Server. Strong commitment to detailed planning, documentation and quality assurance processes.Responsibilities: Strong customer service awareness to keep the customers' requirements constantly in mind and ensure that activities align closely with these requirements. Top-level desktop support isolate, identify, and troubleshoot root causes of desktop issues. Works with team to implement fixes or develops processes for lower tiered support to fix. Diagnose and quickly resolve a wide range of Microsoft Windows applications to help minimize downtime. Manages and monitors the Tier 3 operations ticket queue utilizing Remedy Can document and communicate fixes for other areas once identified. Has a good understanding of and can troubleshoot Active Directory group policy objects (GPOs) that manage desktop configuration and security. Identify security issues and risks, and develop comprehensive mitigation plans for IAVAs Manage, identify, classify, remediate, and mitigate known security vulnerabilities Interprets security policies and procedures as outlined by the US Cyber Command Participates in enterprise security compliance efforts Develops automation to reduce manual intervention in the engineering process. Identifies and targets problem areas within his/her function in order to ensure processes are established or improved. Helps to introduce and develop best practices within the group. Mentors fellow team members and successfully imparts his/her expertise to them.
