Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist on the DevOps team, you will work towards building, analyzing, creating models to improve how our engineers are working across a 10K+ engineer team(s). You will also work towards building intelligence to determine the best code paths for testing, against which hardware configurations and building machine learning and AI to automate defect triage and testing. The goal, being that we remove as much manual processes from our engineering teams in order to create an intelligent and fully automated eco-system.You will:• Work with the DevOps team to build an intelligent software development pipeline• Create learning machines which allow us to improve how we test and improve how we use our accumulated hardware most effectively.• Determine the fastest way to provide feedback to our engineering teams by creating learning machines which run the right tests at the time time based on code changes.• Create visualizations outlining statistical analysis for thresholding• Create leaning machines to determine defect triage fast and more efficientlyEssential RequirementsDevelops and applies a broad range of techniques and theories from statistics, machine learning, and business intelligence to deliver actionable business insights to prospects and customers based on large-scale data.Works under little to no supervision with internal and external teams to understand customer requirementsLeads and performs end-to-end steps involved in model development, while establishing subject-matter expertise in key horizontal or vertical themesExecutes preliminary data exploration, data preparation steps and variable/algorithm selection as well as model development/validation and scoring Independently develops and drives testing of algorithms efficacy for differing analytical use-casesDelivers results and presentations in a timely mannerLeads definition of project use-cases, scope definition, and ongoing interaction with external customers to provide status updates and shares analytical insightsLeads the presentation of project outputs to external customers without assistance Collaborate with internal sales teams to educate prospects and customers on analytics offerings while leading pre-sales discussions by presenting on analytics service offering and technology stackWorks with the academic and business community to develop new techniques and to contribute to research in the area of analytics on large databases Generates new product requirements for the engineering group to enhance the analytics capabilities of the big data platform, in alignment with emerging subject-matter expertise Serves as spokesperson on specialized projects and act as prime consultant on large projects and may be an informal team leaderContributes to partnerships & relationships with third parties by developing/testing vertical/horizontal analytical solutions and product integrationsDesirable Requirements5+ years of relevant experienceMasters Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information SystemsPython (should have a programming background) / scripts & microservices.Grafana &/OR TableuaExperience with DevOps, CI/CD and Continuous TestingML / Algorithmic exp.Experience as an engineer building software and understanding of their bottlenecksHere's our story; now tell us yoursDell Technologies helps organizations and individuals build a brighter digital tomorrow.
