The Data Engineer will play an instrumental role in designing, developing and maintaining an Azure cloud-based data storage and pipeline solution for enterprise analytics. Primary responsibilities include building the ingestion, transformation and cleansing process for new data sources brought into the data platform, monitoring and troubleshooting ETL / ELT jobs and designing a scalable architecture for future enterprise analytic platform growth.


On-boarding new sources of data brought into data platform.
Working with internal systems owners, business users and engineering groups to understand and plan data integration needs for downstream reporting solutions.
Implementing new pipeline integrations to ingest data into an Azure data platform; standardizing and transforming data into business facing curated datasets for self-service analytics and custom reporting solutions.
Performing unit and integrations testing for new and existing data pipelines using REST APIs and a metadata-driven RESTful integration pattern
Developing and documenting data pipelines using SOA standard practices. Monitoring and maintaining data pipeline job status.
Working with source system and business owners to accommodate data source changes in the integration pipeline, adding new objects and updating scripts in Azure notebooks
Performing automated quality checks and supporting continuous improvement of data consumed within downstream Business Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions
Following code version control and deployment standards and supporting continuous process improvement.
Designing an architecture for future platform growth, including, but not limited to: Data Repository, star schemas and Tabular Models.


At least 3 years of relevant work experience in Data Engineering
B.S. Computer Science or equivalent training
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Technical proficiency with data integration, data repository, and Star Schema design patterns
Intermediate knowledge of Azure cloud Infrastructure
Experience with agile development methodologies
Understand business processes logical data models and relational database implementations for data analysis
Understanding of Azure Synapse
Build data expertise and implement own data quality test cases for required areas
Intermediate knowledge of following code version control and deployment standards and support continuous process improvement
Expert knowledge of SQL and of relational database systems and concepts
Intermediate knowledge in Azure Data Factory , ADLS, Power BI, PySpark and SQL Spark.
