Applies technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in support of Carilion Clinics data warehouse and reporting initiatives. Works closely with the Business Analyst to understand information needed by business workflows to provide actionable information to make better business decisions. Works with IT resources to assist in data governance and data quality programs.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, health care systems or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum six years' experience in working with enterprise data sources and BI tools in a financial or healthcare environment. Dimensional databases, cubes and columnar data structures experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation. A minimum of two of the following certifications are required: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance and Stewardship Professional (DGSP), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP_, HIMSS - Certified Associate (CAHIMS), HIMSS - Certified Professional (CPHIMS)
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral). Must have thorough understanding of the 7-layer OSI model. Data profiling and data quality analysis experience preferred. Experience translating business needs into data architecture specifications. Experience supporting application users. Experience with Business Objects, Oracle. or Cognos tools a plus. Familiarity with IBM InfoSphere and IBM data models a plus. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and be customer service oriented.
