Job Description:

WORK SHIFT: Monday - Friday: 8 hour day shift between 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. To start, training will start with 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

JOB SUMMARY

The Customer Service Representative is the first point of patient contact and is responsible to ensure positive customer relations for Marshfield Clinic Health System. The individual effectively communicates account information, both verbally and in writing, with patients and with individuals internal and external to the organization. The Customer Service Representative resolves customer inquiries, requests, and takes appropriate action to ensure needs are met in a timely manner. The individual follows Marshfield Clinic Health System policies and procedures to achieve service standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of diagnosis and CPT coding and medical terminology classes as soon as can be scheduled internally, usually within one year.

Preferred/Optional: Completion of accounting courses. Satisfactory completion of diagnosis, current procedural terminology (CPT) and medical terminology classes at time of hire.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Two years' experience in medical business office, healthcare setting, customer service, or comparable experience.

Preferred/Optional: One year experience with insurance denials, accounting or dedicated call center.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
