Date Posted:2021-04-15-07:00Country:United States of AmericaLocation:HNY35: US048-Medford, NY 25-1 Industrial Boulevard , Medford, NY, 11763 USAThe Contracts Manager leads a team of experienced Contracts professionals and is responsible for all facets of the team's contract formation and administration on military and commercial, development and production programs for aerospace and industrial end users.Advises and represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters. Reviews proposals, negotiates and executes contracts. Provides legal advice on warranty and contract administration. Prepares legal documentation for legal and contract negotiations and relationships. Prepares legal applications for warranty and new contracts, as needed. Works with cross functional program teams to ensure contract compliance and to file commercial items determination packages. Maintains historical legal records.Primary Responsibilities:Leads a team of up to 6 professionals located at facilities in Medford, NY, Simpsonville, SC and other locations in the US in reviewing solicitations, preparing bids and proposals, negotiating terms, executing and administering contracts and purchase orders, and contract closeout for proper contract compliance and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.Responsible for coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals.Advises management of contractual rights and obligations to protect and mitigate the organization's legal and business interests.Oversees the team's receipt, review, and processing of customer solicitations/RFPs, proposal preparation, review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions, preparation of contract documents including non-disclosure agreements and memoranda of agreement, order reviews and acknowledgments, flow down of contract requirements to internal stakeholders, change management, identification of contract and business risk, accounts receivable support/reporting, audit support, and contract close out as well as company initiatives including ACE, standard work and business financial goals.Drive cross-functional collaboration to influence the demand on the supply chain and prioritize demand for order fulfillment based on business objectives and customer firm and forecasted purchase orders.Assists in implementing service excellence strategies to improve the relationship between legal department and other departments.Assists leadership in training employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract law related to the business.Assists in litigation and advises management of contractual rights and obligations to protect the organization's legal and business interests.Assists in compiling and analyzing data, and in maintaining historical information to ensure ease of accessibility and retrieval of data and documents.As needed processes specifications, progress reports, and other reports for parent business units.Required Qualifications:• Leadership experience• Broad experience in Contract formation and administration (8+ years)• Extensive working knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations (5+ years)• Proven skills in developing strategy and leading negotiations with industry leading customers• In-depth understanding of commercial item assertion process• Demonstrated experience with all financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements• Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Preferred qualifications:• JD/Law Degree (This does not replace required practical experience)• ERP, SAP preferred• Continuous improvement experienceBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience ORAdvance degree and 3 years of relevant experience ORIn absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is requiredMission Systems:Do you want to be a part of something bigger?
