The Contract Manager is primarily responsible for providing contract management support to the Optum-client agreement across business units. This role will have a high level of interaction with internal business units, external customers, vendors and strategic partners to provide timely updates on various contractual issues. When you join us as a Contract Manager, you'll be engaged in a new and groundbreaking client-centric approach to healthcare outsourcing. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute within United States, ideally in Northeast US, as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with agreed upon modifications to the Master Services Agreement
  • Establish and maintain contract changelog and archive processes
  • Place appropriate audit controls for processes and invoices
  • Ensure performance is tracked accurately utilizing internal tools and processes (e.g., dashboards, scorecards, reports)
  • Monitor project performance against established service level agreements and success measures, such as employee engagement, by working with internal business partners and centers of excellence (e.g., finance, human capital)
  • Develop, communicate and implement program / project risk / issue management plans and strategies (e.g. IRAAD management of issues, risks, action items, assumptions and decisions) with project team and stakeholders
  • Facilitate team meetings to monitor and review milestones, recent accomplishments, and next steps while pushing accountability to resources
  • Coordinate governance/corrective action for all violations of policies, processes, standards and/or procedures
  • Assist with the development and negotiation of new or modified contract documents related to the Optum-client relationship, in partnership with Optum legal team
  • Lead or help develop program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program / project charter, work plans)
  • Provide written communication with client/partners, team members and management the status of assignments on a weekly basis via project documentation (i.e. status update, scope change, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in project management and/or contract management (tracking deliverables and obligations, drafting contract changes, etc.)
  • Experience collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment
  • Experience working in or supporting the delivery and management of outsourcing contracts
  • Experience evaluating and determining appropriate course of action to meet business-client needs
  • Experience working with project stakeholders/business leadership team and presenting project status reports on overall project outcomes and issues
  • Experience applying statistical methods and math to structured and unstructured data
  • Willing to reside in the Northeast US or spend at least 25% of the time in the region

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Proven experience of successfully delivering projects in high pressure, deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements
  • Flexible, agile and adaptable to change
  • In-depth knowledge of Optum service delivery model and operations
  • Solid presentation, written and verbal communication skills, including well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong planning, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
