Job Description:
The Contract Administrator plays a critical role in driving the end-to-end flow of client, vendor, and commercial agreements—from intake through review, approval, execution, and ongoing administration. This role performs substantive first-level legal review, proactively identifying risks, nonstandard terms, and key obligations, while directing timely escalations and coordinating cross-functional approvals. The individual in this role ensures contracts are not only processed efficiently, but also thoughtfully reviewed, clearly documented, and maintained in a way that is organized, accurate, and audit-ready.

SALARY
$75,000+, depending on experience, in addition to bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Contract lifecycle ownership & legal review — manage end-to-end contract flow while conducting substantive first-level legal review of agreements, including identifying legal risks, obligations, and nonstandard terms
Legal issue spotting & escalation — analyze agreements for legal, compliance, privacy, financial, and operational risks; summarize key issues and escalate appropriately to internal stakeholders and counsel
Contract standards & risk alignment — apply approved legal fallback positions, templates, and clause guidance to ensure agreements align with Evergreen’s risk tolerance and contracting standards
Contract records & audit readiness — maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready agreements, amendments, approvals, and metadata with clear documentation of legal review and decisions
Workflow ownership & stakeholder coordination — drive timely progress through review, approval, and execution while partnering cross-functionally to resolve legal and business issues
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience supporting contract review, drafting, and administration in an in-house legal, compliance, or corporate environment
Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Demonstrated experience performing substantive first-level legal review of contracts, including identifying nonstandard terms, key risks, and required escalations
Proven judgment in escalating legal, compliance, and business risks, including experience partnering with internal stakeholders and/or outside counsel
Experience managing contracts end-to-end (intake, drafting, negotiation support, execution, renewals) using CLM systems
Strong understanding of contract structures, legal terminology, and common risk areas; ability to identify nonstandard terms and escalate appropriately
Experience preparing and refining templates, clause libraries, and standard agreements with a focus on consistency and risk mitigation
Demonstrated experience maintaining compliance documentation, supporting audits, and managing regulatory or contractual requirements (COIs, licenses, attestations)
Proficiency in core enterprise systems (i.e. O365, HubSpot & Workday), the ability to learn and effectively utilize role-specific systems and tools.
Aptitude for learning and applying AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK HOURS
Evergreen’s core working hours are 9AM – 5 PM Central Time, and most of our internal meetings take place during this time frame.
