Job Description Qualifications Connected Vehicle Engineer Lead or support the invention and creation of new enabling technologies, features, or systems for use in Company Enterprise Connectivity Vehicle applications. The selected candidate will work with partners across the company and industry to progress, mature and validate vehicle to Everything (V2X) communication concepts and applications with focus on wireless communication technologies WiFi, Cellular (5G, 4G, C-V2X), UWB, Bluetooth, BTLE. Responsibilities include Research and scout new enabling technologies for automotive consumer applications Identify new Intellectual Property, propose, and create new consumer facing Features and Products. Author Feature Requirement, Component Functional and Design Verification specifications for onboard equipment interfacing with Backend IT systems, Consumers and Retailers using WiFi, Cellular, Ultra Wide Band (UWB), BTLE, NFC, and PC5. Create or direct development of working prototypes to demonstrate the featureconcept functionality Perform Failure Mode Effect Analysis on the authored Requirement and Functional designs. Manage Delivery timing that meets the Global Product Delivery System standard Candidate may direct or supervise the activities of suppliers supporting projects and develop relationships with the supply base to learn about latest technologies suppliers may offer. Required Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. 1+ years of experience in wireless broadband and associated technologies (5G, LTE, TCPIP, WiFi, Bluetooth, UWB) (coursework allowed). 1+ years of experience with protocols used to interface with Back End IT systems. 1+ years of experience in Embedded Software development and micro-processor environments for the purpose of developing connectivity demonstration prototypes. (coursework allowed). Preferred Qualifications MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline. Experience with wireless communication, standards and technologies including the prototype of such Experience with Operating systems internals and device drivers for Linux andor RTOS environments Experience authoring Feature Requirement, Component Functional and Design Verification specifications Proficiency in CCC++, Java, Python andor Java Scripts Experience with protocols used to interface with Back End IT systems Familiarity with automotive networking concepts (CANLIN,Diagnostics) and Ethernet protocols (TCPIP) Model Based System Engineering tool application to design distributed electronic systems including capability to simulate design alternatives (MagicDraw) Electronic hardware design experience for the purpose of developing demonstration prototypes using tools like (Altium, OrCAD, or Solidworks).
