We're searching for our next Social Media Communications Specialist to work with our teams across federal and state government client accounts. Position can be remote, but U.S. East Coast is preferred. Some travel to D.C. metro area may be required when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, per contract requirements, and be able to acquire a Public Trust.

As a Communications Specialist, Social Media Writer, you will:
  • Work closely with account teams and clients to develop and execute their social media strategy in support of their overall strategic communications plans
  • Create social media content, with a heavy emphasis on short-form writing
  • Manage analytics for clients' programs and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Monitor the social media landscape and clients' accounts to meet audience needs
  • Understand myriad social media platforms and best practices to help account teams grow media channels
  • Work closely with creative, digital, and paid media teams
  • Be a creative thinker and problem solver
  • Be resilient and responsive to clients' ever-changing needs

As a Communications Specialist, Social Media, you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience in social media
  • 2+ years of experience at an advertising or consulting agency
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries to build social media communications plans
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platform management, content development, analytics and listening tools
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong writing skills in both short- and long-form content
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Comfortable working with remote teams
  • Demonstrated experience integrating creative, data/analytics, paid media, and/or other client services teams to develop fully integrated, insight-driven campaigns
  • Experience developing social media and communications plans and presenting to leadership teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and solid attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
  • Ability to work independently, seek help as needed and contribute to team and company culture

Job Location(s): Within the current landscape, this role will be supported remotely. This role will ultimately sit in Fairfax, VA or Remote when remote working guidelines are lifted.
