Job Description

As a Senior Product Analyst you will report to the Director of Commercial Auto Products and an emphasis will be placed on the developing the skillset to equip you for career advancement within the Product Management organization at American Family Group.

Seeking candidate who is comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment with other team members. Motivated to learn new software and tools and views internal/external data in new ways. Possess an analytical skillset with the ability to summarize complex information.

Supports and manages insurance product performance in market by leveraging analysis, insights across a variety of internal and external sources to conduct root cause analysis. Research solutions that inform recommended actions to improve profitability, growth and customer experience in support of annual profit and growth plans. Monitor/support/adjust actions and initiatives top and bottom-line aspects of product performance in market(s). Create insights from data about customer, market and competitors for creative solutions and proactively monitoring trends in the market.

Utilizes market research data to identify, analyze, and evaluate markets, products, or services that are potential areas for the company to enter. Develops and executes strategic plans for entry into new markets. Develop and introduce new or enhanced products and services in existing markets to strategically manage the product development lifecycle. Delivers enhancements that improve product using contract language, underwriting rules/guidelines, system/platform, automation and use of pricing/predictive analytics.

Compensation Minimum:$76,100/annually

Compensation Maximum:$126,800/annually

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Provides information to leadership based on research, performance data and competitor actions to support product strategy recommendations and profit and growth plan execution.
  • May specialize in researching competitor products, developing and/or enhancing product/contract language, underwriting guidelines, and/or analytics.
  • Develops analysis, insights and recommended strategies related to product development or enhancement, product language, underwriting guidelines, processes and agent business practices.
  • Analyzes information and presents opportunities to improve product or business practices and procedures.
  • Monitors effectiveness of current products and recommends changes and/or enhancements to Management.
  • Analyzes information and/or data in support of the formulation and execution of operational plans.
  • May specialize in supporting pricing activities related to rate reviews, profit and loss ratio-based reviews, experience rating programs.
  • May validate, develop & articulate product features/enhancements to be developed and built into technology solutions.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
  • Demonstrated experience performing business analysis, writing contracts and/or developing underwriting guidelines depending upon specialization
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of customer, business industry, insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts in area of expertise.
  • Basic knowledge of leveraging customer, market and competitor intelligence.
