Job Description

For a 3rd year in a row, Aspirus has been recognized as one of the top#15 Top Health Systems in the United States by IBM Watson in their annual study identifying the top-performing health systems in the country based on overall organizational performance. We are seeking a CODING QUALITY AUDITOR at Aspirus, Inc. This individual has the ability to work at any Aspirus facility or remote. The Coding Quality Auditor reviews medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness and verify that it supports the code assigned for billing. Monitor documentation to establish medical necessity for the service. Monitor documentation practices that may be at higher risk for problems such as templated documentation. Act as a resource to Aspirus, Inc. providers, clinic staff, and patients regarding appropriate documentation and coding principles. Research and analyze data relative to the risk area, new revenue opportunities, and provider profiles. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS Degree in Coding, RHIT or Healthcare Business Services, with emphasis in coding or a minimum of five years coding experience required. CPC, RHIT, and/or CCS certification required within 18 months of hire. Previous computer experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, billing practices, reimbursement practices, and clinic policies and procedures. Knowledge of Provider Based Billing, RHC, and Non-Provider based regulations. Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence. Ability to assess medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness. Possesses ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers and physicians. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions. Skill in use of resource materials. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the prior medical office experience Hours: Full-time, Monday # Friday, 8:00 am # 5:00 pm. 80 hours per pay period. Benefits package available.
