Job Summary The ideal candidate is located in Charlotte, NC or within a reasonable commuting distance. All candidates must be willing to periodically perform work from the Company's Charlotte office. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, the Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for the operations of secure cloud infrastructure, platforms, and software. This position will be held within the CISO Office of Compass Group NA. The Cloud Security Engineer will use former security and engineering experience to review reports provided by cloud platforms, a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), Approved Scanning Vendor (ASV), and Payment Application Qualified Security Assessor (PA-QSA). The Cloud Security Engineer will work with internal departments, Cloud/Security vendors, and client IT staff to remediate any findings to ensure ongoing internal security and PCI DSS compliance. Job Responsibilities Develop, deploy, and operate security mechanisms within our AWS, GCP and Azure infrastructures. Improves cloud security for networks and cloud-based systems. Play a significant role in the design and execution of the security operations processes, procedures, and runbooks. Guide/lead mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities and threats. Prioritize events using existing tools to correlate data for the purpose of reducing false positives and detecting threats. Work closely with internal departments to "build-in" security as code. Participate in incident response activities as needed. Act as a trusted advisor for security related questions and concerns. Must be able to perform hands-on support for a wide range of Cloud Security technologies including, but not limited to: AWS, GCP, Azure, Zscaler Perform project leadership tasks on Cloud Security initiatives/projects. Perform regular audits of cloud security controls and adherence to cloud architecture standards. Document and present findings to leadership and the internal Cyber Security teams for follow up and remediation. Work in a team environment to analyze the findings and help develop procedural strategies for reviewing reports and services. Continually stay abreast of the evolving Cloud Security Standards, learn, actively share knowledge and foster exchange of skills. Perform ad hoc projects as required. Responsibility for any other tasks as directed and at the discretion of management. Job Qualifications 4+ years of experience working as a security engineer in cloud environments Experience securing cloud IaaS offerings in AWS, GCP and Azure Familiarity with individual cloud services and how they are managed and controlled (IAM roles and policies, EC2, WAF, LB, SCP, etc.) Experience with Identity authentication and authorization technologies such as SAML Strong understanding of cloud specific attack vectors and surfaces as well as common risk mitigation techniques Familiar with modern cloud architecture best practices, both an an application level and at an organizational level Experience with infrastructure as code platforms such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible Industry certifications (CISSP, CCSP, etc.) Education & Technical Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information/Cyber Security, or related work experience required Highly developed technical knowledge of networking and network Cloud Security Understanding of information systems and highly technical networking infrastructures Experience evaluating the Cloud Security infrastructure for medium to large enterprise merchants Experience with security operations monitoring tools and processes (SIEM) Experience in one or more languages such as Python, Powershell, Go, Ruby, Kotlin, or JavaScript Experience with integrating security into continuous integration/deployment tools Fundamental knowledge of APIs and SOAR Knowledge of defensive security measures and vulnerability trends Understanding of data protection mechanisms including encryption Strong project management and documentation skills Apply to Compass Group today!
