Job Description:
Candidates must possess the skills necessary to oversee, manage, and motivate a technically skilled claims staff in the processing and adjustment of a wide variety of commercial property claims that are in compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.

What you will do:
  • Participate with Claims Management in the planning, processing and the establishment ofbusiness objectives.
  • Motivate, train and oversee direct reports to manage claims promptly and fairly in accordance with applicable contract provisions, state laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Review all newly reported claims and assign to the appropriate claims professional for handling while ensuring initial guidance is provided.
  • Identify and diary claims for supervisory follow up and review.
  • Ensure compliance with best practices through completion of self-audits.
  • Ability to identify and discuss complex coverage issues.
  • Ability to write and/or edit coverage letters, inclusive of reservation of rights and declination of coverage letters.
  • Follow higher exposure claims to ensure timely and accurate reserving, sound case analysis and strategy. Timely completion of large exposure evaluation reports.
  • Engage and manage consultants/independent contractors as required to assist in determining facts, causation, damages and exposure; monitors the costs to ensure they are reasonable and necessary.
  • Ability to negotiate settlement of claims of varying complexity.
  • Oversee outside counsel through litigation management to achieve maximum performance resulting in optimal claim resolution.
  • Establish, implement and monitor claim objectives in conformance with company objectives.
  • Develop and train direct reports to optimize individual growth, advancement and accountability.
  • Document and address performance issues with staff and prepare periodic performance discussions. Provide consistent coaching and mentoring through CITE.
  • Meet with current and prospective customers to discuss C&F claims capabilities and address specific claim needs.
  • Ability/willingness to work on special projects outside normal responsibilities.
  • Provide superior customer service to all agents, insureds, and business partners during the claims handling process.
  • Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
What you will bring to C&F:

  • Multi-line and/or property and casualty adjusters licenses.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Motivated and results driven.
  • Proficient coverage interpretation skills in the areas of property, homeowners, property damage liability, inland marine/contractors equipment, business owners, equipment breakdown, crime and fidelity
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to analyze data to identify trends.
  • Possess and demonstrates good interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, on a consistent basis.
  • A minimum of five years experience handling commercial property claims.
  • Prior management experience preferred, but will strongly consider candidates with a desire and aptitude to manage.
  • College degree and professional designations preferred.
  • Solid claims marketing and account coordination skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, Xactimate and Image Right applications.
