Job Description

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Power Transmission Line - 100% remote work in Europe, candidates can be from any European country.

About the Role:

As the CTO of European Department, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-sales process, acting as the technical bridge between our sales team and prospective clients. Your primary responsibility will be to expand our company's technical influence in the industry and promote our solutions from a technical standpoint. This will entail understanding the intricacies of our solutions and products, addressing technical queries, and effectively showcasing how our solutions meet the unique technical requirements of each client.

Your role will be instrumental in demonstrating our technical prowess in the field and ensuring that our solutions resonate with the technical challenges and needs of our clients. You will be the go-to technical evangelist, spreading awareness about the capabilities of our solutions and the tangible benefits they can offer. Through this, you will directly contribute to the positioning of our company as a dominant technical player in the industry.

You will also lead our Solutions Department, taking charge of a dedicated team of Solution Managers to ensure cohesion, efficiency, and high-quality technical delivery. In leading the Solution Managers, you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, ensuring their professional growth, and driving alignment with our broader organizational goals. Your leadership will be key in maintaining a synchronized approach to client engagement and bidding process.

Job responsibilities :

Strategic Representation: Represent us on international platforms and conferences, promoting the brand's products and solutions, and shaping influence within the power distribution market.

Industry Leadership: Lead the formulation and revision of industry standards, positioning oneself as a pivotal consultant for customer network construction, encompassing both new projects and technical renovations.

Technical Proficiency: Gain a profound understanding of the challenges faced by power grid companies and apply our innovative solutions to address these pressing issues. Assess leadership in the technical domain, emphasizing technological empowerment and fostering innovation.

Economic Impact Analysis: Evaluate and quantify the social and economic benefits derived from our solutions when contrasted with traditional methods. Measure the cost-efficiency of new technologies or improvements and quantify their returns relative to the technical investment made.

Project Oversight: Oversee and technically ensure the successful end-to-end delivery of customer projects, Evaluate the effectiveness of the technical support and solutions provided in real-world projects.

Sales Contribution: Analyze sales growth rate to determine the technical support's contribution towards achieving sales targets, organize and carry out the technical support work of the company's bidding projects. Measure the efficiency of organizing and providing technical support for company tendering projects to guarantee timely delivery.Regularly assess key customer satisfaction levels to gauge the efficacy of pre-sales consultations and provided solutions.

Market Influence: Boost our industry standing through participation in international forums, publishing research papers, and forging ties with power industry experts, academic figures, and others. Assess contributions towards acquiring new customers, supported by strategic market planning and solution contributions.

Team Management: Evaluate performance in managing the regional solutions department's technical aspect and internal hierarchical construction. Gauge efforts in enhancing the team's technical training, skill development, and helping team members thrive.

Regulatory & Industry Insight: Stay updated on the latest industry trends and understand regulations pertinent to the products.

Requirements

Over 10 years of work experience (at least 7 years of similar director or senior executive management position) in the solution and design from Transmission & Distribution EPC companies, EPC and design Institute

Active member of IEC TC11, CIGRE B2 and IEEE Transmission & Distribution Committee

Advanced technological skillset and a demonstrated history with technology

Fully familiar with each phase of transmission line project including covering planning, design, procurement and execution up to 500 kV

Experienced in development of innovative solutions and designs for compact transmission lines

Experienced in holistic transmission line optimization, engineering estimates and cost evaluation studies

Proficient in engineering of transmission lines with line posts, braced line posts and insulated cross-arms

Skilled user of PLS-CADD, PLS Tower, PLS Pole and other line engineering software tools

Conversant with technical standards and codes such NESC, ASCE, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, CSA for line engineering, materials and testing

Advanced knowledge of design and applications of composite insulators, research publications and participation in IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE and CEATI working groups will be considered an advantage

Knowledge of the energy utility sector (technical standards, competition, advanced development trends, etc.)

Knowledge of local customers like EPC and power grid company etc.

Understanding of local product & technical requirements

Proven track record of engineering management, building-up and managing a team of engineers

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to draft proposals, prepare engineering reports, deliver presentations and hold persuasive and effective dialogue with customers
