Arista Networks is looking for world-class software engineers to join our Converged Cloud Fabric () development team. As a core member of the CCF team, you will be part of a fast paced, high caliber team that will be building network management, orchestration, and controller software that our customers use to manage individual or clusters of network devices.
You will work with your fellow engineers and members of the marketing team to gather functional and technical requirements for upcoming projects. You will write functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, and the code to bring all of these to life. You will also work with customers to triage and fix problems in their networks. Internally, you will develop automated tests for your software, monitor the execution of those tests, and triage and fix problems found by your tests. At Arista, you will own your projects from definition to deployment, and you will be responsible for the quality of everything you deliver.
Architect/Design/Code/Test/Automate various features of CCF that has high availability and non-disruptive upgrade support
Develop software to automate CCF configurations and integrate it with third-party data center management solutions. Additionally, provide visibility that will bridge the gaps between network administrators and user administrators.
Develop software to integrate with Arista's cEOS which provides its world class networking protocol stacks and extend the functionality into CCF fabric.
Work with the CCF QA team to analyze problems found in their tests and provide solutions to those problems. Also support customer cases on issues observed at customer sites.
Review and contribute to the specifications and implementations written by other team members.
BS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 2-4 years experience, or MS Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 1-3 years experience, or equivalent work experience
Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python
Knowledge of UNIX or Linux, deep understanding of Linux networking stack a strong plus
Understanding of networking including at least one of the following areas is desirable:
Networking domain experience such as L2/L3 control plane and TCP/IP, networking protocol knowledge/experience a strong plus.
Knowledge of vCenter/NSX-T/Nutanix orchestration tools.
Ability to solve complex distributed systems and networking issues.
Strong problem solving and software troubleshooting skills.
Ability to design a solution to a small-sized problem, and implement that solution without outside help.
Ability to work in a team, partitioning and solving medium-to-large-sized problems with limited oversight.
