This remote position is essential for the effective management of the legal calendar, assisting attorneys in maintaining schedules critical to successful case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the attorneys' schedules, including court appearances, depositions, and meetings related to criminal defense cases.
  • Track critical deadlines related to criminal filings, motions, and hearings, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and court officials regarding scheduling and calendar updates.
  • Utilize legal case management software to organize case-related dates accurately.
  • Provide attorneys with timely reminders for upcoming court dates and application deadlines.
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of legal documents as required.
  • Support administrative efforts within the legal team to enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a calendar clerk or legal assistant, specifically in criminal defense.
  • Strong understanding of the criminal legal process and pertinent timelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with legal case management software, preferably CLIO or LAWMATICS.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook for scheduling tasks.
