The Advantage Alliance - Business Development Manager develops and recruits potential HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical contractor prospects and engages with enrolled companies to increase program adoption and frequent use. The Advantage Alliance - Business Development Manager will be responsible for expanding the network of Advantage Alliance dealers and increasing Advantage Program sales by existing dealers within a specific geographic territory.
Increase market penetration in assigned areas via successful territory management. This includes assisting dealers with the required tools to successfully implement Advantage.
Recruit qualifying dealers for the Advantage Alliance Program in prescribed geographical area.
Partners with the training team to plan, design, develop, and deliver effective training, using instructor-led, electronic/web-based, and/or multimedia training methods and formats.
Collaborate with the Dealer Support Coordinators to ensure successful onboarding and continued dealer satisfaction.
Participates in the design, development and implementation of support programs as directed by Advantage Alliance Program leadership in support of dealer network.
Conducts needs assessments to identify and evaluate training needs for high impact sales and communication training.
Recommends and/or implements innovative solutions, modifications and enhancements to sales training programs.
Be proactive and offer solutions and predict/address roadblocks before they occur.
Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs, utilizing appropriate data collection instruments and procedures.
Delivers training to sales consultants and technicians to dealers within geographic territory, as needed.
Coordinates and performs functions necessary to schedule, coordinate travel, set up and deliver training programs, as needed.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree preferred
Two (2) years or more of B2B sales experience (Five (5) years preferred.)
B2C sales experience or B2C sales training preferred. HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical in-home sales experience is favorable.
Experience managing multiple accounts across a specified geographic territory is preferred.
Must be proactive and resolve complex issues before they occur.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (charismatic and substantive speaking ability) in order to consult, coach, and present information.
Must possess a propensity for relationship building in order to form and maintain relationships, with a focus on listening, and the ability to deliver effective training programs.
Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize and execute in a complex and changing environment.
Must be able to facilitate group discussions.
Basic technical HVAC terminology and equipment knowledge is favorable.
Experience training sales consultants and trade technicians in a wide variety of settings and environments.
Ability to persuade dealer managed sales consultants and technicians to offer program through influence and information.
Advanced analytical, business acumen and critical thinking skills.
Needs Assessment: Ability to interpret business and training needs in order to develop effective solutions.
Working knowledge in designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans, curricula, and methodology
Proficient in productivity tools including: Microsoft Office including, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to present ideas in a clear, concise manner.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to consult with stakeholders to offer important technological and organizational feedback.
Moderate physical activity, including: lifting up to 60lbs and extended periods of walking and standing.
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
Average travel: 75% travel within geographic territory (occasional overnight travel). Additional travel to conventions, dealer meetings may be required and include overnight stays.
