What we need:

Mohawk is looking for a Business Development Manager who can do more with Mohawk Flooring North America brands across commercial.

The role of Business Development Manager is to dive right in and help further build out our exceptional brand solutions for the K12 education segment. This position will participate in developing sales strategies, as well as developing and implementing marketing tactics and programs within the K12 education segment.

What you'll do:

  • Participate in national, regional and local K12 education industry shows and serve on trade boards as needed

  • Collaborate with Sr Director on marketing collateral that pertains to K12, Charter, and private school

  • Provide insights on products trends for higher education segment

  • Travel with AE's/RVP's to get a sense of market conditions and competitive advantages

  • Create and build CEU's for K12, charter, and private school segment with Sr Director

  • Deliver CEU presentations at high-level opportunities

  • Report out monthly on segment webinar to team on progress of initiatives over the previous month

  • Research and identify top K12 education markets and targets

  • Identify and understand school district facility planning and bond process

  • Identify and satisfy K12 district RFP responses

What you have:

  • BS/BA from a 4-year college or university

  • Thorough knowledge of Mohawk products, distribution options, sales strategies, and programs

  • Knowledgeable user of excel and SAP CRM platforms

  • Prefer knowledge of proactive prospecting at the financial decision-making level of higher education

  • Minimum of 10 years of successful B2B sales and/or sales management experience

What you're good at:

  • Clear ability to manage projects, budgets, and programs to achieve established goals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to navigate a complex selling environment in public finance and school funding

  • Communicate, council and sell at all levels of an education organization

  • Excellent team player with ability to shift priorities, demonstrate flexibility, coordinate multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines congruently

  • Competent negotiator able to draft, analyze and interpret financial and contract documents

  • Proficiency in CRM software
