Position Overview
This individual will manage and oversee a team of Business Analysts to ensure that elicitation, development and documentation of business and technical requirements for the Teaching Strategies product development teams is conducted according to process and ensuring quality of the requirements. This position will have a close interaction with product group, software development, delivery and support teams, ensuring that all system requirements are clearly documented and communicated. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working on SaaS products within a fast-moving organization operating on complex, high transaction enterprise systems.
Specific Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee direct reports
    • Approve timesheets
    • Conduct regular team meetings and 1:1s with each BA
    • Conduct Performance Evaluations
    • Establish annual goals, career path progression, and compensation
  • Up to 10% of time contributing as a systems analyst
  • Managing a team of approximately 10-15 Business Analysts and contractors
  • Ensuring documentation of business and technical requirements are conducted following appropriate templates and process and are of high quality
  • Collaborating with Directors, product group and other key stakeholders to ensure the process and deliverables meets the needs of all involved
  • Ensuring internal and external facing documentation is accurate
  • Supporting the go-to-market process and deliverables
  • Supporting software and QA engineers to ensure that requirements are clearly understood and properly implemented
  • Training and mentoring Business Analysts
Manage Business Analysts that are responsible for:
  • Eliciting business requirements using document analysis, JAD sessions, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis
  • Assessing As-Is and To-Be processes and document gaps and work with product group to determine solutions
  • Developing business and technical requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
  • Providing and support development of work estimates
  • Developing clear, concise and well-organized system documentation
  • Developing clear and concise stories with well-defined acceptance criteria, examples, and wireframes
  • Working with UI/UX engineers to support the development of high fidelity mockups
  • Working with engineers and development leads to document technical requirements
  • Working with QA to support the development of test cases
  • Work experience supporting SaaS enterprise products
  • 5+ years as a business or systems analyst for a software company
  • 5+ years in a management position with at least 5 direct reports
  • BS in Computer Science, Business, Information Management or relevant industry experience is required
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Background working with complex business systems and integration projects
  • In-depth understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Hands-on experience with Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Confluence) or comparable Agile suite
  • Product Management experience preferred or working directly with a Product team
