Job Description

Job Summary:
The Business Analyst provides strategic analysis and support for the credit union's operations team. The position will be responsible for the preparation and dissemination of detailed analysis, under the supervision of the SVP Member Services & Payment Systems and collaboration with the VP, Internal/Card Resources utilizing a variety of modeling and statistical techniques to help quantify, evaluate and forecast promotions and product profitability.

Responsibilities:
Develops dashboards for Management based on identified business objectives and key reporting metrics.

Design and implement reporting solutions to drive or measure process improvements.

Understanding the payments industry and staying abreast of current market environment and trends that could improve awareness and engagement in our payments portfolio.

Analyzing merchant, vendor, and industry data; helping to solve problems and making recommendations for action.

Works with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and assists with the implementation of reporting solutions.

Adheres to imposed timelines and communicates effectively with supervisor and cross-functional staff.

Assists with the credit union's organizational product profitability initiatives which includes, but is not limited to, model maintenance, raw data preparation and import, problem resolution, presentation material preparation, and report review/analysis and dissemination when issues arise.

Assists with the coordination and production of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for senior management, identifying key performance indicators and benchmarks regarding growth, risk, and profitability.

Creates and maintains a relationship with all staff to foster open communication without retribution.

Maintains expertise in operations, lending, data analytics, procedures, generating accurate and timely reports, and systems.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's Degree or a comparable combination of experience will be equivalent to the education listed.

2-4 years of experience working with data and items such as: SQL querying to help collect data from disparate sources.

Creating dashboards in visual tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.

Maintain a positive and professional behavior and image with credit union Members, staff, management and board.

Establish and maintain effective business relationships with staff in other departments.

Maintain a professional appearance.

Maintain a working knowledge of policies and procedures necessary to effectively perform job duties.

Working knowledge of all related regulations and laws (i.e., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, Federal Banking Laws, California Banking Regulations, Uniform Commercial Code, Internal Revenue Code, Bank and Corporate Tax Law, other federal statutes or state legislation affecting financial institutions).

High level of reasoning capability and problem resolution skills, with the ability to collect, compile, and analyze information and present data in an understandable format to management and employees.

Ability to make sound decisions under extreme circumstances with confidence and firmness after assembling facts and weighing alternative solutions.

Ability to use good judgment in setting priorities and carrying out duties under limited supervision.

Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, and vendors.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the metrics and measurements produced by various software solutions.

Meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills

Effective oral and written communication skills

Strong desire to function in a team-oriented, service-driven environment.
