Job Description

The Associate BI Data Engineer is an interdisciplinary individual on the Enterprise BI team who works closely with multiple stakeholders, both in business and IT, to ensure the data most important to business analytics and the improvement of RSM's BI operations is accessible and well-understood. They work with the Senior BI Data Engineer and BI Developers to understand our architecture and design, assist with implementation related to scalable BI data stores for structured and unstructured data. They will learn how to optimize ongoing reporting and analytic processes which automate or enhance the self-service capabilities of our customers, both internal and external. Essential Duties: Create and apply data design standards and assist in maintaining and documenting our BI data solutions that support reporting, visualizations, and data analytics across our business Improve upon ongoing reporting and analytics processes, support data integration automation to simplify self-service for BI customers Assist in administration of the BI data integration and reporting environments including data connectivity, system performance, and security Take part in creation of new complex & simple reports and visualizations and support of existing reports. Support business users and IT teams through gathering of report requirements and design using reporting tools Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or similar education or experience within a technical discipline required Willingness to learn data ETL using tools like SSIS, Informatica, SAP DIS, or similar is required Solid experience using T-SQL and/or ETL required Understanding of relational database concepts required Strong communication skills required Strong desire to master a modern BI tool preferred API integration and/or development understanding preferred 3+ years in an IT career required 1+ years in a reporting/data analytics-related role preferred Experience collecting data requirements preferred Experience working with WebFOCUS, Power BI or other similar BI environment highly preferred Reporting environment administration experience preferred The firm offers a competitive benefits package, base compensation, and an employee bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance per program guidelines.
