Job Description:

  • Design of client's Cloud environments with a focus AWS and demonstrate Technical Cloud Architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA and development Cloud Infrastructures running in 24x7 environments.
  • Delivery of customer Cloud Strategies, aligned with customer's business objectives and with a focus on Cloud Migrations.
  • Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud including implementation of AWS within in large regulated enterprise environments.
  • Nurture Cloud computing expertise internally and externally to drive Cloud Adoption.
  • Design architectural and engineering roadmaps regarding the AWS Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) architecture.
  • Develop a set of standards that are consistent across the AWS IaaS.
  • Develop and implement internal systems, processes, and best practices to be used by the Project team and the Operational teams designed to increase productivity.
  • Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud.
  • Recommend architecture to meet business requirements.
  • Design and maintain the customer facing technologies with a focus on Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).
  • Design compute, storage, network, and security infrastructure.
  • Create and implement automation for cloud platforms.
  • Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards.
  • Troubleshoot non-operational and production issues.
  • Verify and resolve configuration and other non-software related issues.
  • Create documentation around the setup, implementation, and design of the environment.
  • Provide technical oversight, review, and quality control.
  • Act as an escalation point / SME for AWS related technical issues and decisions.
  • Act in a "Trusted Advisor" role for customer to foster a long-term relationship.
  • Identify and develop new opportunities within the customer environment where they can continue to scale the cloud environment.
  • Maintain technical certifications as required by the organization.

Technical Skills required

  • AWS based Cloud Architecture and migration skills and experience.
  • Strong understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure architectures and designs.
  • Strong experience with OpenShift
  • Knowledge of further Cloud technologies (Azure, S3, VMware).
  • Preferred 4+ years' experience as an IT Infrastructure Architect title, in addition to a line level technical position such as DBA, Sysadmin, Engineer.
  • Experience in leading a team applying all elements of Technical Consulting.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with programming and infrastructure automation (e.g. Python, Shell, Ansible, Java, and JSON).
  • Understands and can articulate the technical merits and value of Cloud computing.
  • Good virtualization experience.
  • Windows and Linux experience (not just one of them).

Consulting Skills required

  • Passionate, persuasive, articulate Cloud professional capable of quickly establishing interest and credibility in how to design, deploy and operate cloud based Architectures. Strong written, verbal and chalk board skills.
  • Experience in working in PMI methodology managed projects is valued.
  • Experience in enterprise applications, solutions and data center infrastructures.
  • Experience in platform and cloud migrations, including of Mass Migration Toolsets.
  • Ability to work with remote team members.
