The Role at a Glance

This position will provide leadership, direction, and functional expertise on Annuity Financial Projections as part of the Annuity Valuation & Modeling team. They will play an integral role in delivering critical regulatory and management requirements in exercises such as cash flow testing and asset liability management.

What you'll be doing:

Lead critical business processes including Asset Adequacy Testing, Asset/Liability Management, and Economic Capital.
Lead the identification, development, and implementation of strategic process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality within the financial projection exercises
Provide thought leadership and functional expertise to internal/external stakeholders on opportunities to understand projected cash flows and optimize the company's financial position while minimizing risk
Provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent
Contribute to operational and enterprise strategy creation for the financial projections team as well as the broader Annuity Valuation & Modeling team
Engage with internal/external stakeholders to develop insight and understanding of results in various market environments and other drivers of interest

What we're looking for:

Must have:

12 years of actuarial experience
3 years of management or demonstrated leadership experience
Substantial experience with Annuity products (Variable Annuity with/without living benefits, Indexed Variable Annuity, Fixed Indexed Annuity, Fixed Annuity, and Payout Annuity)
Strong understanding of regulatory/accounting/capital frameworks (STAT/GAAP/Tax, RBC, EC)
Understanding of capital markets and financial instruments (assets and derivatives) that support the products we sell
Actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience, preferably in MG-ALFA and GGY AXIS (or comparable actuarial modeling software)
Excellent communication skills
Works well in a team environment

Nice-to-have

Competency with R, Python, SQL, and/or Excel VBA
Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)
Familiarity with modern data science approaches
