FMG Portfolio Modeling Analytics team uses multiple technologies (Java/J2EE, C++) and provides stable, scalable platform with appropriate standards and procedures to support the diverse nature and demands of a wide range of investment teams and clients.

Job Description
The role is for a key member of the FMG Portfolio Modeling Analytics team in San Francisco or New York focusing on Java technologies, develop high-performance data streaming components for market data processing subsystem. Provide multi-threaded solutions using deep code optimization with following capacity planning, load and stability testing to enforce stable work of whole system under high-velocity data streams.

Design and develop specific parts of the firm's investment management platform, working closely with senior developers and managers. Support the existing business workflows and applications. Work with business and technology groups internally and externally to develop solutions for performance attribution. Utilize various technologies including sophisticated web services, Java applications, C++ servers, tied together over a real-time messaging system and connected to a large and highly complex database. Communicate functional and technical specifications to peers, management and customers. Work with customers in designing processes and solutions to meet business requirements, and manage resources and project timelines.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study and five years of progressively responsible experience. In the alternate, the employer will accept a Master's degree and demonstrated experience
  • Proven understand of Java concurrency and threading model, experience analyzing thread dumps and thread interaction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of java Garbage Collection (GC) algorithms and performance, practical experience analyzing GC statistic dumps.
  • Experience profiling and optimizing Java code for high-performance and concurrency.
  • Experience working with Java profiling tools - Jprofiler or Yourkit.
