Principal consultants work closely with colleagues to deliver complex, customized and multi work-stream solutions that meet client expectations. At this level, business development and client relationship management feature as an important focus of the role in addition to delivery. Individuals may major on either delivery or business development, or indeed have more of a mixed portfolio. Individuals will contribute to bids and manage/lead relationships and/or projects of considerable complexity.

The firm seeks to hire a Principal Consultant to join Organizational Strategy in North America. Our specific expertise need is in organizational design and job architecture. Were looking for people who understand work at the job level and as jobs come together into work teams and organizational structures. Ideally you will have formal experience in work measurement, job levelling, job family modelling, and in organization design.
The Principal will work closely with colleagues to deliver complex, customized and multi work-stream solutions that meet and exceed client expectations. Principal level consultants lead client relationships and/or projects of considerable complexity, offer seasoned expertise, and translate their understanding of clients business challenges into business development opportunities. Individuals take the lead on some business development and also partner with other colleagues, especially on larger, multi-stream opportunities.
Develop and support management client relationships either as a member of an account team or by directly managing accounts including potential key accounts. Contribute to key accounts by project managing work streams and/or leading delivery teams.
Lead independent charge of strategic workstreams as part of complex/multi-service line projects and/or lead smaller projects with direct or project-based team management. Projects may span multiple service lines and would typically involve managing multiple consultants from otheroffices/countries. Typical timescales could be6-12 months/project and average team size is 3 consultants of varying seniority
Lead research, analysis and interpretation on client / sector business issues, performance, client competitor performance etc. with a view to identifying possible opportunities. Look for ways to build new client relationships e.g. active networking, asking for referrals, partnering across KF lines of business. Leverage insights to define, recommend and /or co-create strategic solutions for the clients.
Contribute to winning profitable business by supporting proposal writing, pricing, shaping opportunities, pitch preparation and opportunity spotting in clients. Assess the needs of large/complex clients, designing and delivering solutions to meet their needs.
Deliver high quality work that meets client expectations.
Facilitate project/ workstream teams by defining scope, objectives and project management structure ensuring a constant focus on outcomes. Plans for resource needs and implements plans to ensure consultants are developed to meet business needs. Leverage the expertise of internal industry or practice experts across the KF business.
Contribute to thought leadership and/or research. Speak at local or national events in own area of expertise to enhance the KF brand. Develop relationships with industry andthought leaders externally to increase awareness and prestige of KF.
Support less experienced consultants through mentoring andproject-baseddevelopment and coaching.
Develop deeper expertise in at least one expertisearea, andbecome conversant in of allKorn Ferry(KF) Advisoryofferings in order to draw on appropriate practice expertise to provide business solutions, including those that may require inter-serviceline approaches.
Continue to deepen and broaden own consulting skills, business or sector understanding andexpertise. Extend a strong internal brand and network of KFAdvisoryconsultants.
Work with KF industry leaders to develop and customize offerings within a service line and targeted at aparticular industry Skills & Experience
5-8+ years of work experience in Strategy & Operations/Transformation practice of a management consultancy OR HR Operations/M Integration /Organizational Development/Organizational Design
Track record of helping clients to develop and implement transformation roadmaps with a strong emphasis on the leadership, organization, people, and cultural changes required to improve performance
Skilled in some of the following areas:
Organization effectiveness analytics and diagnosis
Career architecture development
Job family modeling
Career pathing and career mobility
People strategy development and implementation
Financial literacy, business acumen, and a profit conscious mindset with the ability to analyze market data, interpret P information, and translate that information into meaningful action plans.
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work independently. Ability to proactively achieve goals and strategies under shifting conditions and with different tasks, job responsibilities, and people.
Sector expertise preferable but not essential
Fluency in PowerPoint and Excel(pivot tables, Vlookups, Macros); familiarity with data analytics/visualization tools such as Power BI, Alteryx and Tableau preferred.
