Assistant Accountant - Temp - Fast Growth Tech Start-Up - Central London (remote working)

*Candidates must have a 2-week max notice period, and have a Tech/Start-up background to be considered for the role*

The Client

We are pleased to be working with an innovative tech business that is scaling at the moment. The company offers a fast-paced environment full of driven and passionate people. They have recently begun to expand internationally and are currently fundraising, enabling the organisation to invest in further development and product improvement. This is an opportunity to have real impact on building out the finance function and to join the business at an early and exciting stage. They are keen to add someone to the business who is fun and hardworking.

The company are keen to hire someone as soon as possible and the contract would last two months throughout this contract the role will be fully remote. There is the possibility for this role to go permanent following this contract.

The Role:

The Assistant Accountant will be working in a small finance team reporting into the Finance Manager. The ideal candidate with have strong experience working in transactional finance. This role will be responsible of maintaining the day-to-day finance and assisting with ad-hoc duties where needed.

Duties:

  • Purchase ledger - checking, processing and paying invoices and employee expenses
  • Looking after Purchase Order process
  • Bank reconciliations in a timely fashion for multiple bank accounts
  • Sales ledger - raising and posting sales invoices; credit control
  • Working with Finance Manager to collate and review month-end accruals and prepayments
  • Produce intercompany reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Produce balance sheet reconciliations for multiple entities

What we need to see:

  • Experience working as an Assistant Accountant
  • Self-starter, able to work under own initiative and with incomplete information
  • Proven experience within a similar capacity with exposure to multiple currencies, preferably in a technology business
  • A good team player
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel (v-lookup, pivot tables)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to change quickly, and work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

Non-essential skills:

  • Experience with Xero

Salary: up to £150 a day
