And you'll do your life's best work.(sm)Optum Advisory Services is seeking a skilled claims analytics consultant to be an integral part of efforts to expand and optimize analytical capabilities and insight generation within client payer organizations and health systems. This position will work with clients to ensure accurate reporting of cost and utilization trends and population health metrics. This individual will create, validate, visualize, and distribute analytic capabilities focused on improving population trends, health outcomes and quality-based incentive metrics.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities: Creating and promoting reporting standards that help drive effectiveness of analytics and efficiency in new efforts Confirming that new analytics adhere to data and platform guidelines created in partnership with platform architects, data governance, data engineering, and other relevant teams Expediting the turnaround time to create new analytics Acting as a subject matter expert on data enrichment and content curation Ensuring complex analytics adhere to best practices Ability to analyze and present data to groups and individuals Key Activities: Work cooperatively and collaboratively with members throughout the life span of the engagement Collaborates with internal and external customers to obtain reporting requirements for new metrics. S/he will identify potential workflows; present options to decision makers; coordinate with the analytics team to implement necessary changes and ensure new metrics are being accurately reported Aggregate reports from multiple different data sources to assist with the creation of registries focused on high utilizers, high risk patients and other projects as needed Identifies and implements new and innovative ways to use and distribute data to ensure it is meaningful to the end user Extract data from medical and prescription claims systems Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external audiences Serve as the primary contact for data enquiries from internal staff and external agencies as they pertain to population health and payer relations You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 4+ years of healthcare analytics professional experience (e.g., business intelligence; data mining, aggregation, and enrichment; analytical content creation; analytical storytelling; user requirement gathering; analytical process documentation) 3+ years with medical or prescription claims data 2+ years with process improvement 2+ years of SQL and/or SAS scripting 2+ years of experience building new ocntent within common reporting and business intelligence platforms (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports, etc.) to drive business value If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.
