Job Description

ALARM TECH SUPPORT AGENT - FULLY REMOTE

If you have previously worked in the alarm/home automation industry, we want to talk to you! Plus, we are offering a $500 bonus after the first 30 days of employment! This entry-level position pays $14 to $17 per hour depending on experience with medical benefits after 90 days and the opportunity to earn more and advance within the department.

This position qualifies for full-time, remote work in AZ, CO, FL, LA, MN, NC, OH, OR, PA, and UT, subject to the company's guidelines. NorthStar's work from home, flexible work schedule, and remote employment policy is subject to change in the company's sole discretion. All employees must complete a background check and obtain licensure as a burglary alarm agent, where applicable.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As an Alarm Tech Support Agent, you will work remotely, assisting our customers by troubleshooting and resolving problems with their home security systems over the phone and via chat. You will have various responsibilities, including providing specialized technical support, working with installation technicians and customer care agents to diagnose and resolve technical issues. You will provide support via our inbound telephone call center, email, and chat. Our ideal candidate will have a technical aptitude and enjoy troubleshooting. Prior experience with alarm installation or other low voltage system experience is a plus but not a requirement.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TABLE AS A REMOTE ALARM TECH SUPPORT AGENT:

  • Experience in Home Security/Automation
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written (bilingual Spanish-speaking is a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and descalate customer calls
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Comfortable using a computer and learning our software platforms
  • Dedicated hardwired ethernet cable (preferred over wifi)
  • A computer that runs Windows
  • A working headset

  • ALARM TECH SUPPORT AGENT COMPENSATION:

  • $14/hour base pay
  • $2-3/hr performance pay, which is dependent on your own performance
  • Tier level testing available to increase the hourly wage
  • Spanish speaking extra pay
  • Commission opportunities on top of base wage
  • Full-time shifts available (30-40 hours)
