The Regional Claims Analyst provides technical consultation and training to claims personnel regarding casualty claims for Agribusiness operations. They analyze case exposures, manage defense counsel performance, and collaborate with leadership to improve operational results.

Overview
Under limited supervision, the Regional Claims Analyst is responsible for providing claims technical consultation and training to claims personnel on casualty claims for the Agribusiness (AG) Operations. This includes assisting Claims Leadership with enhancement of individual/team performance and strengthening overall claims operational results.
Responsibilities
- Assists in analyzing the exposure of cases, including consideration of all pertinent information (e.g., coverage, liability, investigation, injuries sustained, prognosis for recovery, subrogation, discovery, evaluation, negotiation strategy, etc.). Provides analysis and feedback on case status to Claims Leadership.
- Focuses on ensuring defense counsel is timely and properly providing aggressive litigation on behalf of Zenith insureds.
- Ensures counsel is timely and properly conducting appropriate discovery, including prior injuries, prior medical treatment and records, and electronic evidence. Likewise, ensure that counsel is providing quality reports about this discovery and timely addressing improper objections or other failure to answer.
- Participates in file conferences and makes recommendations for future handling action plans.
- Prepares case updates analyzing exposures and providing recommendations.
- Participates in claim reviews of both litigated and non-litigated reviews as requested.
- Assists in ensuring that detailed action plans are formulated that address any opportunities for improvements outlined in the claim reviews, confirms that these plans are completed and in place in a timely manner, and partners in the execution of the plan.
- Provides input to loss control on potential changes in insured operational guidelines, standards, and workflows.
- Provides input to underwriting and product departments with recommended policy language changes.
- Liaison with reinsurance carriers on cases that require reporting. Along with the AVP of Claims, provides the re-insurers with updated claims status/claims summary meetings as required.
- Assists the AVP of Claims in the creation and delivery of Semi-Annual Large Loss Report
- Provides training as needed on topics identified by claims leadership or claim file observation(s).
- Assists in providing input/recommendations when corporate claim policies or procedures are formulated or changed.
- Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training/experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience, professional insurance designation and/or insurance related education required
Work Experience
- 6+ years of casualty technical experience handling highly complex claims in a regional/corporate claims environment with preferred experience in catastrophic claims management required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated skill in coaching individuals through detailed instruction, frequent interaction, and repeated practice.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills, and influence management skills.
- Advanced understanding of the tenants of insurance and legal principles: knowledge of P&C coverages and services.
- Experience in handling catastrophic casualty cases (spinal cord injuries, brain damage, severe burns, etc.)
- Technical experience in a multi-state P&C environment preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Valid Driver License in good standing.
- Occasional overnight travel required.
Pay, Benefits, and Other Information
The expected salary range for this position is $116,465.80 - $164,507.95 . Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.Benefits
