Support the NAS IronPro and Mortgage profit centers' profit, growth and operational objectives by performing actuarial pricing analyses. This role will work closely with the Director, Actuary and Underwriters to understand drivers of business performance and develop appropriate portfolio level pricing strategies. Primary responsibilities include completing profitability reviews semi-annually, developing, maintaining, and enhancing rating tools, and improving efficiencies in the analyses and monitoring of supported portfolios. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, as well as demonstrated ability to execute thoroughly in a collaborative environment.

Portfolio analysis: in-depth reviews of the portfolio's composition and profitability; participation in discussions with lead Underwriters and Claims personnel regarding profitability and strategic direction; clear communication of results of actuarial analyses to underwriters, finance, management, and claims personnel
Rating Models: maintenance and enhancement of existing models and development of new models as necessary, including periodic data-driven reviews of pricing parameters
Analytical Process and Portfolio Monitoring: Maintain, enhance, and extend the analytical infrastructure and monitoring tools used to assess the profitability of the business with a goal to provide timely and actionable insights.
Integration of analytical models into actuarial analyses to drive business profitability
Peer review of reserving analysis and selection of Pricing ultimate losses.
Responds to ad hoc analysis requests from Underwriting, Claims, IT, and senior management
Retrieves, understands and manipulates data as it relates to assigned and related projects while maintaining clear and concise documentation of methods and activities.
If applicable, positive progress towards pursuing and passing of required actuarial exams
Potential for 10% travel and ability to work eastern time hours
We have remote flexiblity for this role.
Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) designation preferred with commitment to achieving Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).
3 - 5 years of progressively more responsible experience.
Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of all casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions.
Strong knowledge of insurance operations and the procedures of Financial, Underwriting, Claims, IT, Legal departments.
Strong technical and computer skills, a fondness for data (collection, manipulation, report design, sensibility checks), and attention to detail
Demonstrated programming skills (such as R, SQL, VBA) preferred.
Demonstrated ability to exchange ideas and convey complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
