Job Description

This well established, successful accountancy group are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team.

The clients cover a broad cross section of markets and they provide a range of accounting services including management accounts, audit, taxation planning/advice and payroll services.

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant will need to work to tight deadlines with impressive communication and numerical skills and will be confident in communicating with clients both face to face and in written form.

The perfect candidate will be qualified or and have experience of working within a busy public practice accountancy firm.

Preparation of year end accounts to final stages for all clients, including submission of Corporation Tax forms, liaising with Companies House, HMRC, Outsourcing colleagues and clients as required. Ensuring year end accounts and corporation tax returns are completed and submitted in good time, as well as work on clients P11d returns.

Roles & Resposnsibilities:

1. Client Management -

Develop strong, long-term, relationships with clients

Manage clients to ensure deadlines, and client responsibilities, are met

Assist Directors with negotiating fee agreements with clients

2. Year End Accounts -

Processing small limited company accounts to final accounts stage, linking to tax returns as appropriate

Processing complex limited company group accounts to final accounts stage, linking to tax returns as appropriate

Contacting clients for their information and processing the information to Trial Balance stage

Process the Trial Balance, before posting to TaxCalc (or Digita for complex accounts) and producing the final accounts

Ensure procedures are followed and checklists are completed, where appropriate

Ensuring that internal records are up-to-date and client deadlines are met

Regular internal client meetings, before and after accounts are produced, to review and feedback re: bookkeeping work / journals with the outsourcing team

3. Corporation Tax Returns -

Complete corporation tax returns, including computation

Discuss corporation tax return with client and advise of liability payment.

Submit corporation tax returns to HMRC, ensuring they are correct and submitted on time

Complete deadline sheet / TaxCalc tasks

4. Audits (desirable but not essential) -

Assist the Audit Manager with completing the required work for the portfolio of audit clients to a high standard

5. P11d's -

Managing clients that require a P11d submission via TaxCalc

Corresponding with clients and colleagues before preparation and submission of returns

6. General accounts work -

Review own work and take ownership for quality of work

All work / reports that are sent to a third party are checked by a colleague

Excellent client relationship skills, both verbal and written

Support colleagues by assisting as required within your capabilities and skillset

Provide ad-hoc support to other teams as required

Ensure clients are invoiced for all work individual carries out

Be mindful of assignment profitability and be confident to raise issues of scope creep with Directors

Ensure all task trackers (TaxCalc, control sheets etc.) are updated as assignments are completed

Additional Information:

* Salary - £35-40k

* Home working and 2 days per week in Stratford Upon Avon Office

* 37.5hrs, flexible with start & finish times and 4 days will be considered

* Travel may be required to additionla office and clients sites
