This internship is remote during the school year and in-person Milwaukee, WI during the summer. Accounting Internship As an Accounting Intern, you will work alongside your hiring manager, mentor, and team to complete tasks critical for Northwestern Mutual's success. See below for our current list of internship opportunities available in our Accounting departments: Centralized Accounting: Assists Centralized Accounting Services team in accounts payable, period close processes, commission processing, and more. Supports creation of standardizing and scaling onboarding documentation and training documentation. Provides support to daily, transactional work and assists with special projects. Bring Your Best! Minimum qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college or university Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher Previous work or classroom experience in one or more of the following: Accounting Completion of Intermediate Accounting course Employer immigration sponsorship is not available for this role Preferred skills and proficiencies Previous Accounting internship and/or relevant project experience Effective oral and written communication skills Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability High degree of self-motivation, passion, and a drive to learn Ability to balance multiple priorities Next steps We encourage you to apply! Required Certifications: Compensation Range: Minimum: $16.50 Midpoint: $23.25 Maximum: $30.00 Pay rates for internships are determined based on academic tenure and major. Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment.
