Job Description: Information about the Role, Line of Business, and Team:

The Operations department of the Crum & Forster Accident & Health division is looking for a multi-talented individual to join the Operations team. This is an entry-level accounting position that will interact internally with Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Compliance, IT, and externally with the divisions business partners.
What you will do:
  • Record all financial parameters of the A&H Division
  • Perform monthly reconciliations on a program level
  • Record receivables in cash application tool on a daily basis
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, as well as monthly reinsurance statements for ceded program business
  • Perform general ledger and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with providing documents for internal and external audit requests
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and assignments under the direction of senior personnel
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end closes
  • Act as backup for other functions within the accounting unit
  • Participate in the improvement and documentation of financial and operational processes
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships across functional teams to resolve issues
  • Contribute to a cooperative team environment in order to meet department deadlines

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree or 1-2+ years of equivalent work experience / Internship in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience required
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook and Power Point experience
