Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:Products represent over 30% of Milliman's revenue and are the fastest growing area within Milliman. New products are being created regularly and Milliman has created a robust Milliman Incubator Program under our Product Advisory Group (PAG) to support the development of new products. This role will serve as a main point of contact between the PAG, product practices and Finance to develop recommendations for efficiencies in existing product practices and standard approaches to using Milliman's financial systems for new products. Responsibilities will include a variety of accounting functions and procedures, with a strong focus on Milliman's Product Practices. THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE, CANDIDATE FOR THIS ROLE CAN LIVE AND WORK FROM ANYWHERE IN THE US.RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as a liaison between Finance, PAG and product practicesBecome a part of the team to create accounting structures and reporting that will be specific to the practices offering products. Interact with product department leadership and accounting personnel to understand their needs.Create standards approaches in Finance systems to support products.Prepare advanced journal entries, creating monthly financial statements, and ensuring data accuracy.Perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions, analysis, and reporting.Analyze, and help practices interpret, financial results for a variety of operating units.Prepare advanced journal entries in multiple ledgers and currencies within a monthly deadline.Manage and execute the terms of internal contracts (transfer payments), buyouts, and mergers.Develop best practices on using Milliman finance systems to support both large and startup product practices.Help create accounting structures for emerging practices that offer products.Work with various practices on developing accrual basis reporting.Recommend changes to Milliman finance systems and approaches to support product practices.Develop best practices on using finance systems to support both large and startup product practices.Make recommendations on efficiencies.Contribute on Ad-hoc projects and reporting.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Accounting.The ideal candidate must have minimum 8 years of experience in financial statement preparation and reporting, and general accounting activities including advanced journal entries and account reconciliation and analysis.The ideal candidate must have accounting experience supporting software companies, including software development, software licensing, software as a service, use of cloud, blended services of consulting and software and experience in product businesses.The ideal candidate must have experience with accrual basis accounting.The ideal candidate must have proficiency with MS Excel (advanced level)Must have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Must have strong client service skills, communication.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:CPAProfessional service firm experiencePower BI experienceABOUT MILLIMAN:Independent for over 70 years, Milliman delivers market-leading services and solutions to clients worldwide.
