To find out more about us, click on the link : The Work You Will Do: The Security Information Analyst IV is a member of the Information Security Team of the Division of Information Technology. The incumbent of this position assists in the maintenance of the Department's Information Security Program and operational security processes and tools as required by law, Department policy, and rules. This role helps ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to reduce, eliminate, or recover from identified threats and risks to the Department's data and information resources. This position performs technical and non-technical duties relative to the maintenance of organizational information security. Pay: $46,000 - $60,000 Annually Your Specific Responsibilities: Serves as a primary point-of-contact for the execution of incident response activities and may perform both technical and coordination roles on the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT), under the direction of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Such activities include, but are not limited to: + + Monitoring for threats via logs and alerts from network and system security technologies, such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools. + Reporting, tracking, escalating, mitigating, and resolving security events. + Working with system owners and administrators to quickly mitigate and resolve security events. + Facilitating effective communication among relevant CSIRT team members, system owners, datacenter personnel, and third-party associates. + Providing consultation for projects and initiatives associated with risk and threat mitigation. + Advocating security awareness as it pertains to incident prevention and risk and threat mitigation. Works with the Information Security Team, IT teams, business unit staff, and other parties necessary to accomplish the information security goals of the organization. Assists in automating security-related functions and activities, as needed. May participate in multiple operational security functions, including, but not limited to: + + Anti-malware and Endpoint Security + Vulnerability Management + Data Loss Prevention (DLP) + Enterprise Encryption + Network security + Cloud security + Policy development + Audit and compliance Assists in the development, improvement, and administration of awareness training tools, materials, and processes. Documents and updates internal procedures. Shares knowledge and participates in cross-training to improve team functionality. Performs other duties, as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Knowledge of risk-based security best practices. + Knowledge of, and ability to follow, the incident response life cycle. + Knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications and outsourced systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft SQL, SharePoint, custom web applications and frameworks (.NET experience a plus), email systems, "cloud" services, firewalls, and other networked applications and appliances. + Ability to establish credibility and working relationships with a wide range of personnel, including operations, management, executive and legal staff, as well as with external personnel, including datacenter staff and vendors. + Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously. + Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to work in both a team-oriented, collaborative environment, as well as make progress and accomplish goals independently. + Ability to be exceptionally self-motivated, self-directed, and detail oriented. Qualifications: As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state and national law enforcement records. Minimum: + Must be available for on-call and overtime as required. + Must have 3+ years of professional experience in information security or a closely related field. Preferred: + Direct experience in SIEM/log tools (e.g. Splunk), Next-Gen Firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto), IDS (e.g. Cisco Firepower), and/or Web Application Security.
