Job Description

What you will do:

  • Administer assigned system and oversee processes related to user access, system settings, roles and security, customization of objects/fields/layouts, data storage, licensing requirements, etc.
  • Analyze and document complex business and system workflows, provide recommendations to business units, and independently create solutions within the LOS to improve workflow and reporting processes
  • Review feasibility of system update requests from business process managers and provide alternative options as needed
  • Conduct systems analysis to understand business impact of proposed system changes, develop applicable coding, build test script documents, administer system testing, deploy changes, and assist in monitoring system interfaces
  • Create and maintain custom reports and dashboards and continually seek ways to improve data quality and productivity
  • Develop and manage business rules, including writing advanced scripts in VB/.NET based on business requirements
  • Coordinate efforts to manage defects
  • Comply with IT policies and procedures (e.g. SDLC policy, change management policy, workflows, etc.) and provide recommendations on policy improvements or changes
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships
  • Manage Help Desk tickets related to user issues for assigned system(s) and provide interdepartmental support by responding to inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and determining solutions
  • Review LOS system release notes, organize task force meetings, and manage release updates
  • Maintain knowledge of system administration guidelines and best practices and provide recommendations for internal process changes or improvements

  • Solid knowledge of computer systems including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong analytical skills


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of related experience in administration/development of Encompass-- EllieMae Certified Encompass Administrator or Developer
  • 5+ years of mortgage industry experience, including in-depth knowledge of the industry and loan origination life cycle
  • Encompass 360 skills (e.g. Encompass SDK stand-alone applications, plugins, CodeBase forms; creating input forms; managing the reporting database; advanced coding of business rules; admin knowledge, etc.)
  • Ability to understand software requirements specifications, deployment plans, and maintenance plans
  • Experience in advanced coding of business rules, as well as coding skills such as VBScript/VB.NET
  • Working knowledge of Ellie Mae's TPO Connect and other Connect products
  • Knowledge of system testing and ability to design, plan, and execute system testing strategies and tactics
